Lu’s set at the Cambridge Folk Festival was shown at 2.00am this morning on BBC4.

You can watch it now (and for 7 days only) on the BBC iPlayer (a free download).

It may be better to let the download ‘complete’ before viewing to avoid stalling

    Enjoy 8)

    Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!
Just got my tickets for Manchester – last two, front row stalls – how good is that?

Had to make a 500 mile round trip to London in 2007 – this time it will be 20 mins along the East Lancashire Road!

My gig calendar was looking prety sparse after last year (Neil, Steve Earle and John Fogerty amongst many others) – now I can add Lu to Morrissey, Lynyrd Skynyrd and CSN – and all within 30 minute drives.

    Thanks so much for this!

Yes, very sad news – had my own little ‘tribute’ – listening to ‘Solid Air’ driving thro’ the night – hard to believe he was only 23/24 when he put this out. RIP.

there is a rap song called ‘Fruits of my Labor’ by Jullie D – it’s not a cover of Lu’s song tho’ – check out Youtube.
Justin Tranter covers ‘Fruits……….’ (and Ruthie Foster does a nice version too) – also on YouTube.

Not sure you’ll find them in Scotland – you can still buy them on-line – click on the link on the welcome page to this site (right hand side/middle). Great value, given the current exchange rate! Although they’re priceless really. Lol.

Yes – I’d have to agree. I am lucky to have both sets, but would say on the whole the LA set slightly edges the NY set.
There were some anomalies in my order. I suggest you E Mail Customer Services as I did – I said I did not want to bear the cost/see the sense in returning the faulty discs and they sent me the replacements with no quibbles.
You never know – they may send you the LA set in addition to the ones you have. If you don’t ask you don’t get.
Or you could always burn a set before returning them!
    Best of Luck!

    hi..I am a new fan of lucinda’s music….
I heard one of her songs but missed the title….
its about a lady who wants time out from her partner….she may or may not return but she is asking that her partner understand and gives her some space.
I really hope some-one out there recgnizes this….the music is very clear
in my head but unfortunately not the words
    thanx

Hi Shimshon – it sounds like you were listening to ‘Side of the Road’ from the self titled ‘Lucinda Williams’ album (1988). It’s not readily available at the moment – tho’ you could try Amazon – or a copy of the ‘Live’ version of the album from last year, from LA or NYC – still available via this site.

‘You wait in the car at the side of the road
Lemme go stand a while, I wanna know you’re there, but I wanna be alone
If only for a minute or two
I wanna to see what it feels like to be without you’…….

‘If I stray away too far from you, don’t go and try to find me
It doesn’t mean I don’t love you, it doesn’t mean I won’t come back and stay beside you
It only means I need a little time…..’

    Is that it ?????

Welcome to the Forum and the world of Lucinda – you won’t be disappointed !!!!!

A Google search should throw up the full lyrics for you.
This album is a great starting point – but nothing of hers disappoints (truly).

I have a spare ticket for this sold out gig. It’s row FF in the rear stalls – that’s 6 rows back in the second block.
I only want face value (no more and no less) ie £70.00. For personal use only – no touts please. You’ll probably pay a lot more on Ebay nearer the time or on the night.
Will meet you at the venue with the ticket given the close proximity.
Probably the last chance EVER to see him in the UK. Great set-list.

It’s at the Apollo Theatre, all seated (approx 2500) – so pretty intimate.

    PM me asap if interested.

NB need to be in seats by 19.30 – or will have to wait for the interval! (you know what he’s like!!!)

Why can I not see any posts relating to these guys on here?

Outstandingly Brilliant – does exactly what it says on the packet!
Or are they just another of the ‘best kept secrets’?.
Just driven for 9 hours – playing ‘Tonight at the Arizona’ and the new album ‘The Felice Brothers’ back to back and over and over.

Not been so excited about a new find since I found Lu.

Roll on Manchester 27 May 2008.
