RhonParticipant
Thanks for all the photos! Am I mistaken? The person identified as Ann McCue looks just like Tara Angell. I never realized they looked so much alike. Am I confused? Stoger would know for sure, I think.
RhonParticipantCongrats to Lu and Tom and everyone who is lucky enough to be there tonight.
Hope to see my friends in NYC in a few wks.RhonParticipantAin’t Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore, The Rascals (I’d like to hear Lu do that, now that I think about it.)
RhonParticipantHere’s a good link to the way I’ve heard Lu explain it…

RhonParticipantFrom ancient Toltec wisdom, shown in the book Beyond Fear about Don Migal Ruiz. His books are better than that one. I think it’s a symbol for self discovery or improvement, meaining you enter one of the heads, get better and come out through the other head. It’s cool, but of course…
RhonParticipantCan’t find those youtubes…
RhonParticipantraven, feathers shiney and black
a touch of blue, glistening down her back
….
looking for some truth
dancing with no shoes
the beat, the rythm, the blues
….
she was gonna buy dresses that zip up the side
and wear red lipstick, have a nice car to drive
….
baby I remember all the things we did
when we slept together and the blue behind your eyelids
….
I just want to live the life I please
I don’t want no enemies
I don’t want nothin if I have to fake it
….
once I was in your blood and you were obsessed with me
you wanted to paint my picture, you wanted to undress me
….
you’re a bad pain in my gut, I want to spit you out
…
surround my heartbeat with your fingertips
unbound my feet, untie my wrists
I long for knowledge, whisper in my ear
undo my logic, undo my fear
….
how would bruises find the face to lie upon
how would broken find the boneLW
RhonParticipantI’m –just’nold– chunkacoal……
RhonParticipantHopefully, details of the performances will be included in the booklet that comes with the DVD next year….
Two road trips this week; can’t wait. Listened to Essence NY last night. Played it first because I’ve never heard Steal Your Love live before. Wow. Wonderfull! Sound was beautiful throughout. Can’t wait to hear the rest of them. Great work Mark & all!!!!!
RhonParticipantI remember SonO. He was from NOLA and survived Katrina. Then I saw in another section of the forum that he passed. He was a very sweet and kind soul.
Also, thanks to Lu, Band, Crew and IJ for everything. See ya next year!
RhonParticipantRhonParticipantPlease, something. CD/DVDs, anything. It’d be a shame not to use it. My fingers are crossed!
RhonParticipantLucinda was fabulous and I thought the first half flew by. Remember how surprised she was that they’d reached the end of the album? She really is gracious and real (not memorex…love that!) We were just in shock at the special guests who showed up. Byrne and Johansen couldn’t have been better. And I must say that we all loved Susan Marshall, too. Man, if she didn’t make your hair stand up, nothing does. The ending was perfect as well, Take Me To The River. We (there were four of us) walked out in shock; we just shook our heads. We all agreed that we had just witnessed something very special. Thank you Lucinda and band.
RhonParticipantYes! Thanks, everyone for all the reviews of the Essence show. I saw Willie Nile open for Lu at her 4 hour marathon show in Baltimore a few years back. He was great. You know I remember when she first tested those songs and then released and toured the Essence disc, I was moved to tears by her voice.
So, I’m headed to NY tomorrow for SOW and LW shows. I’ll be on a train home most of Friday. I’ll try to post something when I get back.
I can’t get that Bus to Baton Rouge link to play (shit).
Yes Stella, Paul is a fun person to hang with at the shows, isn’t he?
PL&R, All!
RhonRhonParticipantDitto!
