ParticipantThanks very much for the setlist Insider Dude. I was there last night, standing about 6 feet from the stage on Chet’s side. Wow, the show was great. Great venue. Great city. Lots of cool people, many of whom were hooting and hollering. Thanks for changing the venue to the Orange Peel, Tom.
Opening with Real Love was wonderful. It has a very Stonesy feel to it. In fact, I got my wish to hear a lot of songs off the new album (7 of ’em). This is, after all, the Little Honey Tour is it not? Rock Star was insanely good and the AC/DC cover really does work. I was curious as to how that song was going to sound coming from Lucinda, but she breathed some new life into it. Some cute lady standing near me yelled, “Everything you do is awesome, Lucinda,” and she was right. I hope Lucinda heard her; it looked like she was having almost as much fun as we were. I don’t think there were any false starts, not that it would have mattered anyway. The local Pisgah Pale Ale which was flowing freely at the bar may have clouded my memory just a tad, so hopefully someone could help me out with a few questions. My girlfriend and I don’t recall Doug playing any harmonica or pedal steel guitar. Did we miss this while out smoking? We missed the opening Buick 6 set. Chet played a mean Hammond organ sounding keyboard on at least one song. He and Doug of course got face to face with their guitars on Joy, and there was one song in particular in which Chet did a killer lead guitar solo, but I can’t remember which one it was. And I know I heard a brief Zeppelin riff, but alas I can’t remember which song it was in, maybe Real Live Bleeding Fingers…….can anyone help a brother out and fill in the holes in my memory?

ParticipantHey Ray thanks for sharing the Ferlinghetti poem. I heard her read it in Greensboro last year (September). She also debuted “For What It’s Worth” that same night, which I am pleased to see will be included on the EP. And thanks also for getting this thread back on track. I for one like to hear Lu share her thoughts with us, political or otherwise. I guess it helps that I agree with her views.

ParticipantI received an email from Ticketmaster announcing the change. The Orange Peel holds 942 people, no seats. The Thomas Wolfe Auditorium holds 2,300+ people.

ParticipantYou may be in the minority but you’re not alone. I, too, like Jailhouse Tears.

ParticipantAnd speaking of David Byrne, has anyone seen Widespread Panic’s version of “Life During Wartime?” Whew…..it’s a crowd pleaser.

ParticipantGee thanks David. I’ve been waiting on the edge of my seat for more info about how David Byrne does it………and not that I really care but just for the fun of it, what does he do with that unaccounted 10%?

ParticipantThat was beautiful Disco Stu. Well said.

ParticipantHere’s my two cents worth. I think Tom is entitled to voice his opinion just like the rest of us are. For those of you offended by his comments, I say get over it. I totally support Lucinda’s decision to play a bunch of Little Honey songs on this tour. It’s her new album and artists typically promote their new material on tours. That “David Byrne 30/30/30” mix, bullsh!t or not, is just not applicable here. Why should we expect this alleged model of David Byrne to apply to Lucinda? When an artist has a new album coming out, I expect to hear that new music when I see that artist perform. Years from now, when I’m chilling listening to Little Honey I’ll reminisce about when I first heard these songs…..when Lu was doing her Little Honey Tour.
By the way, to liken Lu’s early work to Dylan’s early work is, in my opinion, a stretch……………………Y’all have a nice day

Actually there was offer to play DC on 9/30 but she couldn’t do it once the offer to do Letterman on 10/2 was confirmed. She will definitely be there next year.
Hello Insider Guy,
I am excited that Lu will be on the letterman show. Should we create an announcement about this on this forum/website?Thanks……I’ll see you in Asheville and Charlotte, maybe Raleigh.

^ thanks. if it makes you feel any better, Lucinda’s appearing in my area and, even though I checked Ticketmaster and this site every day to make sure I would be there when they went onsale, American Express has made it IMPOSSIBLE for me to see her. so I’m missing out even though she’s within reach.
Dude, the MSG show is not sold out.

ParticipantWow…..I never saw this interview before. Thanks Pit Bull….and speaking of pit bull, did anyone else notice Palin’s photo on that website?
