Thanks for the info tonyg. Very helpful info. So King Leg played less than 20 minutes? Still, it’s good exposure for the kid. FYI, I’ve been a member of the forum since 2006, when I saw Lu for the first time at Carolina Theater in Greensboro. It was the VietNam vet night when Lu was passed a note from the vet in the audience, damn I can’t remember his name, but his note explained that he and his buddies sang “Are You All Right” for a fallen soldier’s recent burial at Arlington National Cemetery. It was emotional. Later, 2 songs from that night’s performance were included on the EP, “Lu in 08” as a political “get out and vote” statement. The songs were Thievery Corporation’s “Marching the Hate Machine,” and Dylan’s “Masters of War.” It’s also noteworthy to point out that we heard the live debut of “For What It’s Worth” that night. Maybe her EP helped, people did get out and voted in record numbers for the 2008 elections. I’ve seen Lu over a dozen times since that first experience, mostly in NC, and I’ve enjoyed sharing and listening on this forum. I’ve seen Lu at least 4 times at the Orange Peel in Asheville, and those shows were rowdy and so much fun and Lu always smiled and commented on the crowd. The worst was a theater show in Charlotte in late September 2008 as the big banks were on melt down. Lu did the classic tap on the microphone and said, “is this thing on?” as America’s banking city was crashing and burning. Weird crowd. People sat on their hands and barely clapped. I expect a better response Saturday in banking city. I’ve met several great forum members at shows over the years thanks to you and this great chat room. I’m looking at you stoger.

…and hello Stoger, are you going to the show in Charlotte?

I will be attending the show in Charlotte August 11. I can’t wait. My last Lucinda show was at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC April 23, 2017.
Do the performers alternate the order in which they come on stage? What is the usual order, Steve then Lu then Dwight? I know King Leg is the opener. I see that Steve has joined Lu onstage recently, has she also joined Steve during his set? And has Dwight collaborated with any of them onstage? Thanks

Hey is anyone here going to the Winston-Salem show?  If so I hope to see you there. I also love Foothills Brewery who will be the beer vendor at this outdoor event.

Sorry we didn’t touch base, rainydayman; your name came up in pre-dinner discussion in barleys, among vmorris, westwords, and myself. Glad you attended–and go gold and black!!!

I was looking for you Stoger. I should have checked Barleys, dang it.

That Asheville event that Warren Haynes invites Lucinda to must be the annual Christmas Jam. I sure hope she accepts his invitation. It’s a lot of fun.

I was there. It’s always great to see Lucinda at the Peel. Thanks for making the effort to drive to the mountains of NC. THAT was a fun show.

Thanks for posting the setlist. And nice review Vivian. And I was there in September 2006 when Lu introduced Roger the Viet Nam vet before launching into “Are You All Right?” I enjoyed seeing the songs off the new album for the first time. “When I Look At The World” was special with just Lu on acoustic guitar.

I figured it out and succeeded in getting two orchestra pit seats.

Hey Stog & RDM (and of course, Lafayette), glad to hear you’ll be at this show. I wish TNT could be convinced to drive north. I just landed in Asheville, and the hotel clerk informed me that it is Beerfest Weekend and that the streets will be packed with revelers. Sounds like anything could happen.

Oh man, Asheville in Springtime and beer in the streets AND Lucinda!?! This is going to be fun.

I’ll probably find my way to Barley’s Taproom before the show
