november 9th, the same day as ray davies tribute album.

quite a coincidence. an artist participating in two tribute albuns released the exact same day. cool, no?

she sounds amazing, indeed. but this is probably the first album in which a song that lucinda touched is not the most important for me.

RIP december boy alex chilton. big star covered this song (till the end of the day) on third/sister lovers (it’s a bonus track). here’s a nice video from ’07: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAQ8gqb3Zxk&p=55CF5CB9784E3E6A&playnext=1&index=4

“long way from home” could be a lucinda song from SoW, i think. it’s very memphis pearl-like.

just imagine lucinda covering waterloo sunset (or lola!!)… jackson browne is perfect for the job, but just imagine lucinda doing it…

although this is not my copy (i just found it on a website full of artwork for boots), i have everything listed there. the show is really great, but the demos are stellar (e.g. “lines around your eyes” is really similar, lyrics-wise, to “jackson”). apparently (by the article: http://archives.nodepression.com/1998/08/setting-the-record-straight/) lucinda recorded SOW three times, the first is known as the “rca recordings”, the 2nd, “cameleon recordings” and the 3rd, the released version.

it’s up to debate if those tracks are from the ‘rca’ or the ‘camaleon’. apparently, on the rca there’s “well well well” (???!!!). i never heard the track.

below are two demos i don’t have, but they exist somewhere:

Lucinda Williams – demos, Austin, TX, -84
Hot Blood / Out Of Touch / Through Venetian Blinds / I Bet It’d Be Good / That’s What I’m Living For / Hard Times
Notes: Lucinda & guitar. I’m missing “Pineola” and “Six Blocks Away” which are supposed to be the first 2 tracks on this session.

Lucinda Williams – demos, NYC, -82
All I Want / Pancakes / Walking After Midnight / And All That Jazz / Abandoned / Making Believe / Send Me A Letter(?) / I Wonder Will I Ever Be Back Home(?) / Pineola

that one is amazing. i’m pretty sure i’ve seen it before (on ebay, maybe, but it’s not there anymore). i liked the black clouds dripping, the big white cloud, the no-face woman…

i have this — no “dallas” whatsoever in it.

but here’s an alternate artwork (including the SoW demos):

LW store does not carry the 30th anniversary t-shirt. why? i’ll buy one.

eve/serpent & rooster were designed by the same person responsible for the 2nd poster lwjetta posted (belly up tavern ’06). they’re all available here: http://www.dking-gallery.com/store/ScrojoPostersW.html. shipping to brazil is insanely expensive, so i won’t be buying it soon. i really love the rooster poster – i was talking about those artworks with a designer friend and that was her favorite. i still prefer the florida one – the sky, the moon, the wine, the flower, the window, the couple of tiles missing from the wall – there’s not a single “original” aspect in it, a bunch of cliche romantic elements put together, but it’s so GORGEOUS.

Since I loved the art work so much on it (a “Day of the Dead” styled skull)

let me see it, please. is there a photo available anywhere?

anyone familiar with the almost 10-minute-long version from a ’93 show (strawberry festival)? it’s my favorite.

this is by far my favorite – and the #2 item on my need-to-have list (#1 is the fillmore tour t-shirt, nowhere to be found, please someone sell me!).

by the way, does anyone have a list of t-shirts besides those selling on her site? i have the red devil one, and i bought the essence tour t-shirt (best purchase ever on ebay – but i didn’t receive it after two months, much to my concern.

right now, there’s one there with a colorful heart, “lucinda and the love band”, which must be from circa 2005, right?

    for the 3rd phase, robert confirmed 71 versions (1st: 14; 2nd: 22).

it’s more like 70 nice, great versions and ONE STUNNING DISCOVERY.
