funny, i was revisiting some favorite albums these past few days, and highway 61 was one of them. is desolation row the best song ever written in english? i think so.

anyway, my first LU record was car wheels, which i bought late 2009. the last ones were blessed/essence. i’m just 2 short.

oh, and since lucinda mentioned lovin’ spoonful, i might as well remember – and rightly celebrate – their superb, wonderful hit song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYuVPGmw3D4 (summer in the city)

the band is awesome, that goes w/out saying, but BLESSED solo is the way to go. this is such an all-lucinda song that it better be a just-lucinda song as well.

as far as i’m concerned little angel is the best of the 3 songs she wrote for her brother (are you alright and i don’t know how you’re livin’ being almost just as superb, of course). what do you guys think?

both videos are terrific, but if the world were perfect we’d have an optional audio track of lucinda voice when amos lee starts singing. it’s not personal, mr. lee. nobody else can touch this song!

the thing is that people see those sprawling 25-song setlists and get used to them and can’t rule out the sadness of a set under the costumary 2, 2 and a half hours. which song would you eliminate from those past setlists?

    (besides honey bee.)*

    NONE!

so folks just automatically think of all the songs they’re missing.

*ps: as far as rockers go, “real love” is insanely cooler and so underplayed.

    “2 Cool 2 Be 4-gotten” I think.

yup. 3rd episode from season 1. 2 kool led to sad-sack sex between 2 characters, which is just right.

Unfortunately the bad news is that was the result of not being able to work out the European dates for this fall, which we are very disappointed about but we really hope to be there next summer.

    my calendar knows i’m disappointed.
