As folks enjoy the upcoming shows, perhaps we need some thanks to the bus driver(s)? of the Metal Firecracker, for back-to-back nightly excursions:

Bristol, TN to Glenside, PA: 552 miles, at least 8 hours per Google Maps
Glenside, PA to Nashville, TN: 821 miles, at least 12 hours per Google Maps

Maybe a Metal Airbus would be welcome…

    Another hint: Anniversary

There is a photo of the audience and the Dallas skyline, on the Facebook page of the Kenneth Brian Band.
The photo could use a bit more resolution, but it does suggest the ambience of the evening.

tonyg, I believe stoger presumes his readers would program the Rough Trade set as songs 1-12. I did not attend the Memphis show, but you could probably just cut & paste 1-12 from Cain’s or Pageant.

To augment the reports from ParkerCA:

Kenneth Brian band played from 7:30-8:15.

Lucinda played the Rough Album songs in sequence from 9:05-10:05:

    1. I Just Wanted to See You So Bad
    2. The Night’s Too Long
    3. Abandoned
    4. Big Red Sun Blues
    5. Like a Rose
    6. Changed the Locks
    7. Passionate Kisses
    8. Am I Too Blue
    9. Crescent City
    10. Side of the Road
    11. Price to Pay
    12. I Asked for Water (He Gave Me Gasoline)

Then, the 8 songs reported by ParkerCA, from about 10:20-11:05:

    13. Drunken Angel
    14. Pineola
    15. Hard Time Killin’ Floor Blues
    16. Out of Touch
    17. Unsuffer Me
    18. Righteously
    19. Joy
    20. Honey Bee

Then, Lucinda returned for an encore from 11:10-11:20:

    21. Magnolia (by the late J.J. Cale)
    22. Keep On Rockin’ in the Free World

Cain’s Ballroom is an excellent venue: an enormous dance floor, with permanent side bleachers for sitting, plus temporary tables and chairs at the rear. Also, a nice outdoor patio, primarily for smokers, but also for enjoying some warm evening breezes. Only complaint is no draft beer, just cans of mediocre domestic brews.

Stoger’s friend, Mark Humphreys, is back on the sound board for this mini-tour, after completing his latest tour with Neil Young.

I plan to attend the show at Cain’s Ballroom. Probably, I will visit a few additional shows later this month…

Be aware that Lucinda’s show is part of the First Friday in Tulsa’s Brady Arts District–expect lots of people and traffic in the neighborhood.

To augment Lafayette’s posting, tickets for the September 22 show are already on-sale to the public via the 3rd & Lindsley website link to TicketWeb. These tickets seem to be independent of any AMA affiliation or conference.

As a last minute fling, I took the Light Rail downtown to the Staples Center, just to get a glimpse and feel of the event. I walked/sat around Nokia Plaza and the Staples sidewalk from about 6:30, and I could hear all the music, and see part of the stage from across the street. Lucinda, as the 3rd act, began about 8:10.

As tonyg mentioned, Lucinda sang 8 songs:

    Factory
    Can’t Let Go
    I Lost It
    Drunken Angel
    Out Of Touch
    Hard Time Killin’ Floor Blues
    Righteously
    Joy

    (no encore)

tonyg, thank you for mentioning me, but I do not expect to attend this event. I am not a big fan of paying to see one performer among a festival of other performers, especially with divergent music genres. Enjoy the warm evening…

Also, tonyg, there is a sold-out heavy-metal show at The Echoplex underneath The Echo. Have fun driving and parking.

I got my music fix last night (Thursday) with Sera Cahoone at The Hotel Cafe.

Late post from The Echo Facebook page:

Set times for The Echo tonight:

    9:30pm Dan Janisch
    10:30pm Mike Stinson

Lots of TV time for Dodgers-Red Sox.

Is Lucinda playing a 14-string guitar?

in reply to: SEPT. SHOWS #52057

Perhaps TOverby might comment: If the Sept. 16 show is devoted to an LMHOF induction, would Lucinda still perform the entire Rough Trade album? Hopefully, The Night’s Too Long to limit both activities from co-existing.

in reply to: SEPT. SHOWS #52047

TOverby, the question from IKaufman asked about a Sept. 22 show. Has a Sept. 22 show been determined yet? Thank you for watching this thread, and answering our queries.

Note that the original link specified the event for Nokia Plaza; however, the link has now been revised to specify Parking Lot 7 of Staples Center. Accordingly, the Nokia Plaza link above may be interesting, but Nokia Plaza is not the site for this event. Parking Lot 7 is across Figueroa Street from Nokia Plaza.
