The working password for the presale is BLESSED2011

The original password of BLESSED will not work.

If you don’t have the link, just visit the Stubbs or Front Gate Tickets websites.

Thanks, Tom, for splitting out this thread.

To amplify my earlier note, the link for the off-site club events is

    http://www.jazzfestgrids.com

Right now, the grids are essentially empty, but they will be filled-in as more clubs announce their schedules.

Just a brief reply to Mike about Jazz Fest; obviously, this is off-topic from Austin.

A 1-day Jazz Fest ticket is good for all concerts on the grounds for that 1 day, with no in-and-out. There are about 10 stages, each operating concurrently from about 11 AM to 7 PM. The detailed schedules, known as cubes, for performers and stages, are usually announced in mid-April. The highlighted feature performers, such as Lucinda, generally have a 90-minute slot, somewhere between 3:30 and 7 PM.

    Full official details on http://www.nojazzfest.com

There is also a very useful non-official site: http://www.swagland.com/jazzfest

The swagland site contains a treasure of data about past and current Jazzfests, plus scheduling grids for New Orleans clubs having night events during the Jazz Fest period. Be sure to probe all the swagland tabs for info on travel, food, past attendance numbers, etc.

    From http://www.itsaschoolnight.com

the band Augustana is announced as a supporting act to Lucinda. More acts to be announced.

I’m still waiting for a reply to my RSVP. I promise to wear black, but no tattoo.

The Facebook link has been posted for the Stubbs presale.

Realize that the event is standing outdoors on dirt, so the presale might not assure an up-close view of Lucinda.

Facebook page has this presale link for 930 Club:

The Count Basie presale began a few minutes ago. Use the link from Lucinda’s facebook page (the page with the Little Honey cover icon; not the page with the live singing photo). The link is too long to paste here.

Sorry to rain on your anti-Ticketmaster party, but I believe Webster Hall is a Ticketmaster client.

Good detective work, LWjetta. Several of us forum members became aware of the NYE show yesterday, and delayed any posting, so that Mr. Overby can make a proper announcement. I would expect to read more details in the near future.

in reply to: Lucinda at Bridge School Benefit, Oct. 23 #44332

    West Words:

The Bridge School benefit opens at 5 PM, and probably continues very late–I’ve never attended this event, but I believe the Shoreline Amphitheatre has a curfew at 11 PM.

JP & Chessie’s opening act, Amy Correia, begins at 9 PM, at Bimbo’s 365, in San Francisco, about 40 miles away.

Theoretically, you could see some of both shows, but you would be missing significant music at Shoreline to get to Bimbo’s by 9.

Perhaps, you might choose to fully attend the Bridge Benefit, and then travel to Los Angeles for JP & Chessie on Monday night, the 25th.

Thank you Tom & West Words, for staying up late to file your reports. I hope you enjoyed your healthy meal at Denny’s. I had retired earlier to my room at Humphrey’s, just after midnight.

I’ll just add some comments about Humphrey’s.

    Pro:

    1. Humphrey’s realized they had soft ticket sales, and removed several rear rows of unsold seats, and allowed folks to stand, stretch, and dance in that area. That offered some relief from the cramped seating and yak-yak audience. They also kept a few rows of rear unsold seats, and allowed guests to just sit as they wished.

    2. Humphrey’s security seemed more relaxed. They allowed the audience to move-up and stand by the stage during Righteously and Sweet Side.

    Con:

The well-documented horrible seating, with the cabled chairs and minimal leg room. After the show, we noticed the staff had to cut each cable, and remove each chair, so the AstroTurf could be cleaned. What a chore for each show, to cable each chair to its neighbor.

I only have 15 minutes on this computer–so I’ll end.

Really, a remarkable show. Perhaps, the Lucinda-Chrissie performance of Sweet Side will appear somewhere on the net soon.

in reply to: Humphrey’s By the Bay San Diego 8/27/10 #44239

You’re certainly correct about the seating, but the attached hotel is very nice. I checked-in about 4:30, and sat by the pool, while saying hello to JP, Patrick, and Val–the women were not present at the pool.

The marine layer of clouds is pushing in, getting ready for the bayside show…let the fun begin!

in reply to: Napa Show 8/25 #44053

A very energetic and exciting show. A very beautiful, large theater, with the most enthusiastic audience of the shows I’ve seen this tour. As West Words hinted, this tour is encouraging an interesting mix of audience–Chrissie fans warming to Lucinda, and Lucinda fans warming to the Chrissie trio format.

Not surprisingly for Napa, the theater sold many varieties of wine in cups, and the theater encouraged the audience to bring the wine to their seats, with functional cupholders at each armrest.

Chrissie and friends have adjusted to their 1-hour setlist, and played a wonderful crowd-pleasing set.

Lucinda played a heavy rock set, and the band worked exceedingly hard all night. Val, Butch, and David were outstanding, and drew frequent applause for solos and dramatic riffs.

As the main set ended, the audience stood, danced in the aisles, and remained standing for the encore songs. Again, a very excited audience.

    Lucinda’s setlist:

    1. Happy Woman Blues
    2. I Just Wanted to See You So Bad
    3. I Lost It
    4. Something About What Happens When We Talk (pronoun corrected for stoger)
    5. Sweet Old World
    6. Blue
    7. Fruits of My Labor
    8. Copenhagen
    9. Right In Time
    10. Drunken Angel
    11. Out Of Touch
    12. Convince Me
    13. Seeing Black
    14. Bleeding Fingers
    15. Essence
    16. Changed the Locks
    17. Honeybee
    18. Righteously
    19. Sweet Side
    20. Joy

in reply to: Sacramento show, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 #44201

NOTE: This response uses terms based on Southwest Airlines procedures. My apologies to those who don’t quite follow the message.

Good morning, Stoger. I had no prior knowledge of Chrissie being on the flight, and I made no special effort to obtain an “A” boarding pass. As I was waiting to board the flight, I saw Chrissie, JP, and Patrick approaching the boarding area, carrying their guitars. They apparently had “Business Select” tickets, and quickly moved into the A1-A3 waiting position. Chrissie was huddled into the corner, and was avoiding any outside contact. Patrick seemed more restless, and walked around a bit, and I did approach him, and say hello.

I had an “A56” boarding pass. As I boarded, I saw Chrissie, JP, and Patrick, sitting in Row 1, again with Chrissie huddled against the window, her eyes avoiding any contact. Since the plane had thru passengers from DAL and ABQ, the aisle seats were almost filled by “A56”, and I ended in Row 21, seat D. The plane was completely full, it was only 1:15 PM, and I was not ready for an alcoholic drink, much less walking to Row 1, and standing where “passengers shall not congregate” near the front lavatory.

After the flight, I walked down to exit for the traffic island for the Yolobus 42A to Downtown Sacramento. I saw Chrissie, JP, and Patrick, with their guitars, and some managers, and they walked to the traffic island for the Rental Car Shuttle. Slightly different than Lucinda’s bus operation.
