ParticipantThanks for replying, Tom. I really hope you tour the uk in summer as well. If nothing else, I can book some days off work then!
Shame I can’t get there and back to a date in January, but there you go.padchio
ParticipantBeing selfish here – any chance of a uk date in the north of england? Difficult time of year for me to travel too far 🙁

Participantapparently bbc do not film in the acoustic tent, so looks like lu’s performance has been lost to history.

ParticipantDon’t know about the idea of competition, but I am sure it would have been hectic trying to get to see Lu with the Olympics going on. The underground is bad enough at the best of times. Plus, hotel prices for a stopover would have been ridiculous. Therefore, November is good for me – even better if there will be other shows nearer to me outside the ‘capitol’.

ParticipantLove to hear her do To Ramona – doesn’t have to be about a girl, right?

ParticipantLove the Eve/Snake/Apple poster. Anyone know where I can get it apart from site already mentioned (price too high for my wallet)?

ParticipantMy favourite cover depends what I’m listening to at the moment. Factory Blues is great – reminds me of getting up in the dark to work in a factory, being bored out of my mind during the day, then going home when it was dark again. Happy times!
One track I do come back to is Bonnie Portmore. Love the phrasing on that one.

ParticipantJust a reply to the comments on Blessed. I think its is a very good album. In particular Seeing Black and Ugly Truth, both of which have inventive lyrics as well as being good songs. The only track I’m unsure about here is Sweet Love – it seems to personal a song for me to really connect with it. I disagree that any of the songs are dirges; Awakenings I like and I feel it is simply a track where Lu is not sticking to a strict template of most of her songs. As for Soldier’s song, this is an affecting track.
It seems to me this a tighter album lyrically and production-wize. Little Honey had, not dirges, but too may meandering tracks, and had the feel of a clearing the decks of old songs so Lu could move forward with the new stuff.

ParticipantSounds good about being able to order the new CD on this site, Tom. However, will it be available to those of us in the UK, as I can’t find anywhere apart from Amazon.com I can order the deluxe CD from, and that would mean waiting well into March for it to arrive?

ParticipantWell, thanks for the reply, Tom. What really interested me anyway was the insight the rewriting of the songs gives to the creative process. As we know Lu, like most artists I guess, revisits her back catalogue for golden nuggets.
