Haha, no worries, i can take the flak if someone will. I’ve just bought all of her releases on vinyl and the two dvd’s, got car wheels on cd. At least here in sweden it’s just a fact of life, people download illegaly, at least 30 percent of the swedish population does. Never mind, that’s off topic. ^^
Marc_BolanParticipantAh, already got the second dvd, they’re both great. Are they good these live albums? Any encores off other records? I kinda only buy vinyl and download illegaly these days and i guess i aint gonna find that album so i think i’m gonna have to pass on it… but it sure is tempting!
Marc_BolanParticipantI’m glad hank III doesnt have anything to do with this – I do not like him at all, hank would turn in his grave if he heard him.

The words have a meaning, and you feel it by heart, this is a real piece of not only brilliant music and art, it’s something as rare as a trip along someones road of life.
Marc_BolanParticipantHaha, good point Tom. What about Positively 4th street? If not, mississippi would be cool.
Marc_BolanParticipantWhat about “you aint goin nowhere” from the basement tapes? I think lucindas southern swagger would fit perfectly to that song, especially if they make it a bit country. Hey, that would be SO awesome!
And change “tomorrows the day my bride’s gonna come” to “my man’s gonna come”. Joan Baez once did it.Marc_BolanParticipant@punchdrunklove wrote:
oh, marc. can’t we ever agree on anything?
I’ve no idea, lets hear your opinion! 😆
Marc_BolanParticipantGreat link! Sweet sounding music, I should check out Joe Ely.
Thanks! But that was before my time, i’m only 23 and i’ve been listening for maybe 2 years, so i can’t ask for too much. Maybe i’ll go see my sister who lives in toronto if lucinda’s going there sometime…
Great to hear that she would like to do a blues album… her voice has matured and would fit those old songs even better now 😛
Marc_BolanParticipantPleaaaase come to sweden soon… 😥
Marc_BolanParticipantAnd then a tour in Scandinavia would be good! 😮

Passionate Kisses is obviously the best choice for a hit video from the s/t album… has she made any other music videos?
MAN, i really think that i just wanted to see you so bad would be an even cooler choice. am i the only one who thinks that?
maybe big red sun blues, too. nevermind, i’m weird, i’m the guy who thinks it’s not THAT inappropriate that the american label of the zombies released as a first single of their goddamnamazing ODYSSEY AND ORACLE album the song BUTCHER’S TALE (instead of every other digestible, adorable, sunny, stunning song on that record). gutsy choice.
Lucinda has no other official videos although we have just done an animated video for Copenhagen which should be premiering in the next couple of weeks. It was done by the same animators who do the Squidbillies show.
this is so cool! where can we see it after the release?
thanks for the lizard info, tom.
Well, there’s for sure more material to make more videos on there, many good candidates, but i think Passionate Kisses Stands out, sorry 😥
And i’ve got no idea ’bout zombies… only the romero ones. ^^

We still hope to get them all out on vinyl as soon as possible -we are coming up on the 20th Anniversary of Sweet Old World next year so that would be a good candidate for a re-issue -especially now that I’ve found some alternate recordings from the sessions with seemingly more stripped down versions production wise that I think are better than the official release. So much to do -so little time.
Wow, this kind of burning interest is rarely seen with artists, it sounds very, very good.
As SOW would fit on a single LP disc, a two-lp release including the alternative recordings would be a killer set… although this is normally only seen on CD-releases it would sure be cool…I’m planning on having all the lucinds LPS on the wall, and Especially Essence and Car Wheels would look so good in a big format. SOW too, of course.

August 5, 2011 at 12:09 pm in reply to: What vinyls will come in print and what vinyls won’t? #47822Marc_BolanParticipantThanks! I bought Lucinda Williams and Passionate kisses EP from lpnow.com for 25 and 15 dollars each, good deal.
Yep, SOW, CWOAGR and Essence have never been released on vinyl, right? More prints of fillmore wouldn’t hurt either… 😛
