Nice to see Lu back wearing a cowgirl hat.
I think this might be the first time all year for the hat for the tours at least from all the reports, You Tubes I’ve seen.
    Here’s Essence from Mankato.

A pre-concert report from the Free Press.
    Here is an excerpt.

“It is my belief that Lucinda is the closest living counterpart to Hank Williams, when it comes to writing from the heart with absolute economy,” wrote her frequent collaborator Elvis Costello in a blurb for Williams’ “Live at The Fillmore” album. “It is a bonus that her rock and roll vocal style will shake up any band in a fashion that I can only compare to Keith Richards’ guitar playing.”

    Tom

    That’s awesome Tom.
I looked at the help functions, demo etc. to start the Wiki but I have very little experience at writing, editing, etc.
I know Blake will really appreciate it.
Besides, I “kinda nominated” you as you did a superb job of getting the ball rolling on updating Lucinda’s Setlist FM.
That was a lot of research and input. Kudos to Lafayette for her input on the set lists as well.

Standing by Lafayette for the podcast from the South Lawn.
Not familiar with the music of Train.
Wonder which song Amos will pick. Something from Mission Bell no doubt.
Don’t think it’ll be “Clear Blue Eyes”.

If you’re an artist who plays music that sounds as if could have been written a century ago, what difference does it make if you take eight years between albums? No difference at all if you’re Gillian Welch.”

Eight years between albums-kinda reminds me of Lu.

    Concert review.
    An excerpt.
“Bassist David Sutton stood behind Williams to her right, and sumptuously backed her, while guitarist Blake Mills shined to her left, with his throw-back looks and screaming riffs. Tall and rail thin, in an all white suit, he had long, wispy hair, reminiscent of seventies rockers. He switched between a red and a black guitar, and as the wind blew his hair, he played, looking like a rock-n-roll ghost. The big, cowboy hatted Bush Norton likely hit his drum kit harder than anyone else did that day at the blues fest, seeming to slap feeling right from his restless soul onto those synthetic skins.”

Oh Oh writer goofed on Butch’s name.

What an honor for Amos, Lafayette.
I’ll be tuned in to the broadcast for sure.
Boy, two of your top 5 artists appearing in Washington for the President.
I recall JM’s performance at the inaugural for Pres. Obama plus the Civil Rights Movement concert.

    Outstanding discussion Blake. Thank you.

It appears you don’t have a Wikipedia page yet.
This interview would be an excellent reference to start the page on your career.

Very encouraging to hear that Tom O’s discovery of lyrics and tape demos created between Lu’s self-titled and World Without Tears are being considered . These “unknown” songs have been discussed at great length on the forum, so let’s hope they come to fruition.

Love your innovative twists to the music you are doing on the current tour.
