The caption winner in my opinion West Words.
But as I mentioned in the initial post it’s up to TOverby to tell us the story behind this picture and award a winner.

In the meantime let’s watch Lu in Toronto October, 2009 ( I was there) for the rest of the song.

Great historical find Lefty on his first real concert. Thanks for posting.
So let’s hear Bob at that Nov.4,1961 concert at Carnegie Chapter Hall in NYC
    Song is “1913 Massacre”

Yes, come up to Buffalo stoger.
Be like paul_from_losangeles who on the spur of the moment jumps on the red eye to attend a gig.

Buffalo is also very close to Lafayette’s 7 hour driving limit. šŸ˜†

Yes, lwj, if the interest is there for you to create your own account, I would do so as tnt suggested. HOWEVER, if the interest is not there, I will gladly post on your behalf.

    Thanks Lafayette and tnt.
I did it. Love the way the software auto corrects the song titles for consistency.
Check my first set list posting.

Now, the real test is yet to come for Buffalo this Sunday with Lucinda as it is a GA standing concert.
Hopefully Lefty and I will figure something out.

Song #16 is “Low Down Life.” He wrote that, he said, when he opened on the Dylan/Costello tour.

I video taped it at the Cleveland show with Lu this past July.

    Thanks Lafayette.
Yup, the false start was blamed on going to the Dakota Tavern in Toronto the night before. The Dakota is frequented by Kathleen Edwards and you may recall Amos did a solo promo (no audience) there earlier in the year.
I thought the request thing was neat with a very enthousiastic audience response.
Do you think I could con you into posting the set list on Setlist.FM on my behalf?
Looks like you have to sign on using Facebook which I do not subscibe to.
    Thanks.

With Drunken Angel leading off this fine set list, I would like to add the following:

    WELL IT’S OVER-I KNOW IT-BUT I CAN’T LET GO.

Why you may ask, I did a little trivia research and of 23 shows from July 15 in Cincinnati thru to October 28 in Allentown, PA there were approx. 21 gigs in a row all reported on Setlist.FM with Mr. Randy Weeks song leading off the set list.
There was one exception-Greek Theatre in Sept. with Don Henley and no reports have been made on Magnolia Fest in Live Oak, FL
So the trend was broken in snowy Philly last night. Any meaning to this trend?
Wonder if Lu has to pay royalties to Randy. šŸ˜†
Let’s watch the song writer in Austin from last year for the 4th annual Williams and Williams night.

Now, let’s watch Lu from Raleigh, NC.

Please note: Lucinda Williams has cancelled due to the adverse weather condition. Saturday, October 29, 2011
But she and the band made it ok to the Keswick Theatre with lots of glowing reviews on FB.

Back in time to December 23, 2006 with the original band.-Erika, Mike and Kevin at Southgate House, Newport, KY.

    Three excellent videos just added.
Very clever camera work alternating between color and black and white.

AMOS LEE AND PIETA BROWN /BO RAMSEY @ QUEEN ELIZABETH THEATRE TORONTO, OCTOBER 27, 2011

A memorable double bill concert-One of the best I have ever attended.

Start time was supposed to be 8:00 with doors at 7:00 . Big surprise, I was in the bar at 7:35 and all of a sudden on the lobby I saw video screens all over with Pieta and Bo.
I said this must be from a DVD or rebroadcast. NO, the show started early. There was no announcement and many people arriving for 8:00 missed Pieta.

Hereā€™s a bit of a run down on Pietaā€™s short set.
This was Pietaā€™s 3rd visit to Toronto, first was here at the Queen Elizabeth with Ani DiFranco, second was with Mark Knopfler at Massey Hall (a venue that our gal Lu loves)

    Partial set list:
    Other Way Around
    Mercury
    # 807 (my favourite)
West Monroe (written by Mark Knopfler)
Gotta love Pietaā€™s Iowa accent and Boā€™s guitar work was magic. Just the two of them on stage, absolutely superb acoustics in the venue ( capacity is 1,200) and by the time Amos set started approx. Ā¾ full.
A pic of Pieta and Bo follows later.

    AMOS LEE
A full 8 person band-almost the size of Levon Helmā€™s including 2 back up singers.
There have been lots of comments about that ā€œyoung kidā€ Blake Mills but the ā€œkidā€ playing the electric guitar stage left to Amos didnā€™t look more than 15. He could really rock. At encore he brought out a beer so I guess heā€™s not 15.

OK, Amos started at 8:30 and 21 songs later the set ended with a long, standing ovation at approx. 10:30

    1. Jails and Bombs
    2. Flower
    3. Jesus
    4. Careless
    5. El Camino
    6. Supply and Demand
    7. Keep it Loose, Keep it Tight after a false start. (We went to the Dakota Tavern last night)
    8. Arms of A Woman
    9. Cup of Sorrow
    10. Hello Again
    11. Truth
    12. SOLO Stay With Me
    13. SOLO-Amos asked the audience for requests-Seen it all Before
    14. SOLO-Amos couldnā€™t remember the words so he did All my Friends
    15. Street Corner Preacher-the band returns
    16. A unknown song with the lyrics Took me to Missoula, the chickens are clucking ? Lafayette-help
    17. Violin
    18. Black River
    19. Band intro, Thanks to Pieta and Bo for opening, thanks to the audience for coming out. Windows are Rolled Down
    20. ENCORE- Arms of a Woman
    21. ENCORE-Fat Bottom Girls (Queen cover) Here is a vid.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNj6wNEFaJ8

Half way through the set Amos talked about his participation in ā€œMusicians on Callā€ whereby he visits various hospices in the Philly area. One patient with a name of Dora didnā€™t want anyone disturbing her in her room so Amos stood in the hallway and did an impromptu song. A few minutes later a nun came out of the room and said Dora got up and was dancing to the music. Amos said that made his day.

I sat next to a very nice couple-Chris from PA and Linda from Toronto. Chris was videoing quite a bit and he said to me give me your email and Iā€™ll send a couple of songs to you. Very nice. Chris is a huge Amos fan (and it turns out Lucinda also) He caught their show in Pittsburgh last July.He was most helpful on some of the song titles as I tried to write using the light from my point and shoot.

To summarize, a great concert. That Amos guy has a lot of talent and is very down to earth.
Gotta thank our friendly forum cohort Lafayette for urging me to attend.

I’ll try to post a couple of pics.

    Hey Lafayette;
“Check it out” Amos from his self-titled “Keep it Loose, Keep it Tight.” from The Metropolis in Montreal last night.
Great song, great humorous dialogue and great false start.

I’m all set for tomorrow night in Toronto.
Think he’ll have any of his shampoo for sale at the merch table or should I go to the store to buy some ? šŸ˜†
