Hope you are feeling better, Lafayette.
I don’t know if you have had any luck securing reasonably priced accommodation for John’s concert in Sarnia.
Seems every place I’ve checked has jacked up their prices for July 13th including B&B’s and modest motels.
Might have to bite the.[attachment=0:3owy6y7q]bullet.jpg[/attachment:3owy6y7q] and pay more even though the concert is 2 & 1/2 months away.

Anyway, I picked up the new travel guide and detailed map of Sarnia, ON and area at the local tourist bureau.
It might help you to find the way in case your GPS fails.
I’d be happy to mail these to you if you wish. Send me a PM or, maybe you still have my email address from a couple of years ago.
Sorry you missed Amos last Sunday.

p.s. I have a backup plan for myself if my nephew in London, ON (about 1 hour drive East of Sarnia) is home.

Seems Kathleen has had a good rest and is now going back on the road.
I have many choices to see her this summer from a free concert in Toronto to a return visit to the Jackson Trigg’s Winery 10 minutes from where I live. ($53.00)
My possibilities are underlined as they are all within 2 hours driving.
    Here’s the schedule.

We are also really excited to announce some more summer shows!

    JUNE
06/02 – Pittsburgh, PA @ Three River Arts Festival
06/07 – Kent, OH @ The Kent Stage
06/08 – Detroit, MI @ The Magic Stick
06/09-06/10 – Manchester, TN @ Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival
(check festival website for update on performance schedules)
    06/16 – Toronto, ON @ Luminato
(FREE show downtown at David Pecaut Square, 55 John Street)

    JULY
    07/13 – Quebec City, QC @ Festival D’été
(check festival website for update on performance schedules)
07/20-07/22 – London, ON @ Home County Music & Arts Festival
    07/27 – Guelph, ON @ Hillside Festival
    07/28 – Niagara-on-The-Lake, ON @ Jackson Triggs Winery Amphitheatre

    AUGUST
08/03-08/05 – Montreal, QC @ Osheaga Music & Arts Festival
(check festival website for update on performance schedules)
08/24-08/26 – Squamish, BC @ Live at Squamish Music & Arts Festival

The Jackson Triggs show will be a full set unlike the one I attended there last September where she opened for Hawksley Workman.

Whilst we await Lafayette’s report on Knoxville, TN here is the kind of “stuff” Amos is made of.
This is a quote from his Dallas show on Earth Day.
    “Quote”
For all those wondering why Amos Lee gets off stage in the middle of singing Cup of Sorrow well here’s a quick summary: before singing the song he told a story of an old lady who was at a hospice care facility who didn’t want to be sang to well he tried anyways and half way thru this song she got out of her wheelchair and did a ‘slipper dance’. So while he was singing the song for Dallas an old woman in a motorized wheelchair came to the front where she hit a table and fell out of her chair as soon as security helped her back in she started retreating into the crowd so Amos being who he is stopped singing to go to her and check that she was ok and thank her for coming. Probably the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen an artist do. Enjoy
    “End Quote”

Here’s the video (most of it you will have to turn your monitor sideways to view).

Of all of the songs on the setlist that weren’t written by Cash, Lucinda Williams’ moving cover of the Nine Inch Nails song “Hurt” might have been the night’s most powerful.

    Powerful for sure, Tom O.

What a moving tribute Lucinda has written.
I along with stoger and paul_from_losangeles were fortunate to be in Toronto for the first memorable evening
with Lu, Levon and the Midnight Ramblers.

I’m going way back to the early’60’s when I also saw Levon with Rompin’ Ronnie Hawkins band in Toronto as well.

Tom O, hope you and Lu have a great time in Austin tonight.

A nice tribute to Willie Nelson will be unveiled next Friday in Austin before the Johnny Cash tribute.

Now that the Australia / NZ tour is over, we have 3 shows coming up soon.
Apr. 20 at the Moody Theater in Austin, TX-Johnny Cash Tribute.
I’m betting Lucinda will perform”Jackson” from CWOAGR as Johnny and June Carter won a Grammy in 1968 for their cover(different lyrics).
Apr. 27-again in Austin for the Food / Wine Festival
Apr. 28-Cave Creek, AZ Chicks With Picks (haven’t got a clue what time zone for the show stoger 😆 )

So, will Lu fly back to LA for Apr.21 thru Apr.26 ? or will she surprise us again ?
Maybe a jaunt to Fayetteville, AR to visit her dad and maybe Georges’s Majestic Theatre will approach her again fo a couple of back to back shows.
Any other thoughts from the friendly forum ?

To quote Stoger’s word, I “ferreted” out this rather colorful review at the State Theatre.
    Love the ending sentence.

Delivering a generous two-hour set, the power of her music is simply fundamental. It delivers punch with a finely detailed sense of clarity, yet without fussiness. Emotional heft is all – and she rides her wild pony with wicked, slouching élan.

A great read on your Atlanta trip, Lafayette.Thank you.
Another photo of you and JM to add to your collection.
The play sounds great, I read somewhere that some members of John’s band are in the performance.
Here’s a review of the first night preview of the show.

I haven’t really started an in depth search for Sarnia or Port Huron accomodation yet but I’ll keep you posted.
I should have gone for the unlicenced VIP ticket. Maybe I can upgrade if one becomes available. 😆
