…and speaking of Mr. M, I’m headed north to Canada to Sarnia, ON on Friday for Sarnia Bayfest, where he’s headlining.
lwj…are you still coming?
Regretfully not, Lafayette.
I thought? I had sent you a private message a week ago but now I look in my user control panel I must not have submitted it properly. dang computers.
Work duties call as we have a new partnership with a company from the UK and they are here all this week for the set up. They were scheduled to come last week. I gave my GA ticket to my nephew who is a big Cowboy Junkies fan and I’m sure he’ll like JM’s performance as well.
Oh well, only a 5 & 1/2 hour drive to think about to Hershey, PA for Farm Aid in Sept.
Enjoy Sarnia and the rest of your Summer music tour with Lu.lwj

VERY regrettably I only got into Lucinda Williams this year, and am going to her show in Redding, California this coming Wednesday. I’m from the SF Bay Area and wonder if she played any venues here in the San Francisco Bay Area (i.e., SF, Oakland, Berkeley) this year. It is not ideal to search for previous shows — naturally the focus is on those performances coming up. Can anybody enlighten me or provide a link to a list of the 2012 tours she has already performed in the first half of this year somewhere?
Thank you kindly.
Mike
Welcome to Lu’s world Mike.
A reasonably complete list of shows can be found if you click on the INFO tab on the upper right.
Click on High Road Touring and view shows. Scroll down to the bottom to
view all past and present. It runs from Feb./09 thru Aug./12lwj

LWjettaParticipantA great blog report from Big Sur complete with videos, photos and set list.
I’m guessing it was written by the same person mez that posted the video link which almost covered the entire concert.http://bamnwgan.blogspot.ca/2012/07/lucinda-williams-in-big-sur.html
Here’s an excerpt.
Aside from the old favorites, it was a particular thrill to be blessed with the debut of not one, but two new songs: “When I Look At The World”, (above), and “Bitter Memory”, (below). Lucinda mentioned a clutch of twenty songs ready to go, so it would appear that a new album will be in the offing in the not too distant future. So Tom O , any hints on a new album and what’s the status on Lost Highway ?

LWjettaParticipantstoger wrote:Ballads indeed. Despite the false start, “When I Look at the World” was lovely. Did anybody catch the word at the end of the phrase “I’ve been a total ___” near the beginning of the song? Sounds like “rat” (!) but I couldn’t tell for sure from youtube. That glory/story business is a great gospelish hook in the chorus.stoger, my ears detect “Ive been a total wreck”

LWjettaParticipantThanks for all the great reports from Big Sur. I’ve been on the Friendly Forum for almost 4 years now and I can’t recall such comprehensive reporting for a Lu gig.
This one has it all from outstanding photography of the environs, Lu’s “small” song book to 16 DVD quality videos complete with her on stage banter.
Simply awesome reporting folks.lwj
LWjettaParticipantFor those that subscribe to The Documentary Channel, you can see Amy’s movie called “The Spaces In Between”

Tonyg,that’s a great photo.
Tell me, is Tim from this forum in the photo also since you told me the two of you grew up on the same street in Massachusetts?lwj
p.s. Maybe we should start a sub-forum on us “Lu-natics” from backyard days gone by.LWjettaParticipant@TOverby wrote:
Just for the record it should be noted that this is a re-issue of a record released several years ago-let 90’s I believe. I’ve actually never heard the song, but I’ve noticed the lyrics in the stage master lyric book.
If you swing over to my post on the same subject under Lucinda in general on May 17th you can hear “THE FARM”.
A great cover song by Lu compliments of PBS Australia.lwj
p.s. Maybe the FF moderator can combine the two threads.
LWjettaParticipantNice documentary video on Blake’s career to watch.
