Ah, yes, lwj, I had my eye on that show when it was announced months ago. I passed, wondering if our Bearcats would be playing a Bowl Game this year. I think we won’t be making the trip to Miami with Saturday’s loss to Rutgers.

With the band are in the studio -just finished This Old Guitar for a John Denver tribute record -really came out beautiful. Now for something completely different- about to record a new version of Joy for the upcoming West Memphis 3 soundtrack. Almost ready to go -sounding really nasty if i may say so.

Have a sample listen to the new nasty “Joy”
Looks like it’s about 1/2 minute longer than the original.=More Joy

    From the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
The other night, a Dakota Jazz Club patron asked proprietor Lowell Pickett what his favorite show there was. Pickett rattled off a list of shows, including Lucinda Williams. In fact, he’s so fond of Williams that he’s extended her return engagement this winter by two gigs.

The Dakota has announced Williams shows for Feb. 4 and 6. Previously announced were her performances for Feb. 1 and 2. She is expected to be accompanied by a guitarist as opposed to solo, which was the case for three intimate nights in February 2011

Merry Christmas to Lucinda, Tom, band, crew and all in the Friendly Forum.

This is probably a re-post but it is Lucinda’s Christmas wish from way back in 1974 from Austin, TX.
In the almost 40 years that have now past, it’s remarkable how things haven’t changed. i.e. Lucinda has and still helps many, many young arists on a career kickstart.

LUCINDA’S CHRISTMAS WISH The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar
(And Other Tales of the Armadillo)
    By Paul Johnston

In 1974 Lucinda Williams, singer and song writer, made a wish for a warm comfortable place where the street artists and vendors of Austin, Texas could come and display their artistry during the unpredictable weather of December. She did not realize at that time her wish would ultimately come true and turn out to become one of this nation’s premier arts and music festival,

A full half hour to enjoy of Chuck compliments of NPR Radio’s Mountain Stage.

Back on Mountain Stage for the fifth time, Prophet was called in at the 11th hour to fill in for another performer on the eve of Hurricane Sandy. He more than rises to the occasion here, playing his distinctive brand of roots-rock
