I’m going to have a couple extra tickets to this sold out show. Lemme know if you dare to go. 🙂
Love to hop on a plane to see this kid tonyg. 😆
Everywhere he performs shows are sold out.
I have his self-titled and am looking forward to the release of his next one in Nov. “Shangri La”
The only similarity he has with Justin Bieber is their young age of 19.
Jake seems very level headed and is unlikely to pull the crazy antics the Bieb does.
Enjoy the show tonight and give us your report.lwj

“Side of the Road” was given a shout-out to the band The Schramms from Hoboken, who once recorded it; I have never heard their version.
Here ya go stoger all the way from Hoboken, NJ (1994 from the album Little Apocalypse)
Their version is quite interesting with the organ playing.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10200669781880314&set=vb.221546158334&type=2&theater

LWjettaParticipantThought I would post this You tube from 3rd & Lindsley as it appears it’s the only You Tube on the Web for the seldom played cover ” I Asked for Water…….”

LWjettaParticipantHope you had a great time at Farm Aid Lafayette.
What did you think about Saratoga Springs ?.
I certainly enjoyed watching most of the event on Saturday evening via cyber-space technology.
The stage backdrop scenery was great with everything from dark clouds to fire.I thought Troye and Miriam’s 2 or 3 minutes playing so well together was a highlite intro. to JM’s “Rain on the Scarecrow”. You can tell these 2 are in sync.
It must have been very touching for JM to introduce “surprise” guest Pete Seeger.Amos Lee was on before the live broadcast but I did find a You Tube of “A Change is Gonna Come”
Gotta love his fashion report-a very well worn jean jacket and a ball cap.lwj

LWjettaParticipantThanks paul.
I really enjoyed the live show on Lightning 100 and have recorded it thru Audacity on my computer. The playback this a.m. was great but maybe a little too much bass. So now I have 2 live recordings of the S/T-ist being from the El Rey in 2007, the onstage banter is a great souvenir. Seems like a very active audience in Nashville with a lot of shout-out requests.Great to have Jim L. on stage for “Am I too Blue” and others. Funny, Mr. stoger wrote under the Bristol, TN thread that maybe, just maybe Jim might drive West to Nashville. Think this was wishful thinking or some inside info ? I’m thinking the latter.
Great of Lucinda to pay tribute to all those now departed that participated on the original R/T album.lwj
LWjettaParticipantThanks DDinNJ for your report.
Glad you had a good musical summer.
Here is a review of the show.http://www.phawker.com/

LWjettaParticipantRight now I’m watching live in cyber-space from the State Street stage in Bristol Virginia or Tennessee, I’m not sure. The Queen of country twang Iris DeMent.
Great Sunday afternoon music.
Iris was preceded by a great solo performance from Jim Lauderdale.
Apparently the Bristol Rhythm & Roots festival will be archived for later viewing, so y’all can see Lucinda’s flawless Friday night show again.lwj

Beyond that, I can only yield to LWJ’s vicarious cyber-stream report, error-free. Soon we in-person folk will be obsolete in our reportage. Until such time, who’s making Philly? End Quote]More cyber-streams coming up which technically are becoming very HQ but will never replace on the scene reporting from the FF gang.
Farm Aid later today with Lafayette on scene.
Tomorrow from the State Street Stage in Bristol: Jim Lauderdale at 2:15 p.m. followed by Iris Dement at 4:00 p.m.
3rd & Lindsley on Lightning 100 radio with Lu in Nashville and you on the scene. You and Railroad said it all from Bristol ( Lu very happy and a seamless show )
You could tell from the broadcast that Lu +band mates work together so well- It put a smile on my face when Lucinda tapped on David Sutton’s shoulder right after Rockin’ in the Free World and both were beaming.
Maybe the Heritage TV channel will archive some of the concert.lwj

LWjettaParticipantHey FF this Lu tour for September has brought us all kinds of goodies from the anticipation of the re-release of S/T, an induction honor into the LMHOF, to a capper on Sunday night-a radio feed from 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville.
AND NOW THIS for tonight at 10:45 p.m. Eastern.
A strong possibility of a live stream on your computer from the Piedmont stage ( as I reported Earlier today)

There is a security fence in front of the stage so if Lucinda’s live stream really happens as scheduled then we would expect to see on the fence the following” stoger, Rainydayman,Drunken Angel, railroad and perhaps Vmorris.Again here is the link to watch the various stages.

This is well said, v. thanks for the report, and I haven’t heard “Plan to Marry” since the wedding. As for LWJ being deemed “sweet” by a club owner, WHAT’S UP WITH THAT??? Aren’t Canadians supposed to be salty and pepperish? [Just kidding, my Fran’s and Massey Hall friend]
Ah yes my friend stoger I remember the Massey Hall co-billing with Levon Helm like yesterday and I was pleased to get a reply to my email from the Haw River Ballrom’s owner.
There are lots of photos from last night’s show on the Haw River Ballroom facebook page including this one-I’ll call it a reference to song # 5 from the S/T “Like a Rose”-all donated by a local florist in Saxahapaw.Happy Anniversary @happywoman9 & Tom! Our local @Saxapahaw flower farmer brought these in for you!

Another hint: Anniversary
Oh yeah. I feel like a dullard, Paul. It was this time of year that we gathered in the Twin-Cities in ’09, wasn’t it? Perhaps it’s the lingering 90 degree weather here in TN which had me thinking not about autumn at all.
The response from the Haw River Ballroom owner to a quick email I sent last week for anniversary # 4 reminder.
you are so sweet – yes we are aware of the special date and have plans in action! We love her too and are so thrilled to have her coming – both nights will be sold out – really fun.
