McCabes? That will be the crown jewel of this tour. 😀

tonyg, I see all 8 shows are now listed for the world tour on the Shows page.
How many do you hope to attend- assuming the credit card holds out and you can reschedule any golf lessons ? 😆

I just updated setlist.fm with this show’s set list.

lwj, could you provide me with the songs Jim L sat in on (since you have it recorded)? I would like to credit him in the setlist.

Lafayette, I only recorded the first (S/T) set but Jim L. accompanied Lu on the following:
    8. Am I Too Blue
    9. Crescent City
    11. Price To Pay
    13. Can’t Let Go
    15. Drunken Angel
Not sure if he appeared any more in the 2nd set.
Videos of # 13 and # 15 for your viewing pleasure.

You can still hear a repeat broadcast of the first set on Lightning 100’s audio archives as per my post above. It’s a real treat.

[quote=”Lafayette”I’m going to her CD release show tomorrow in Columbus. Shall I pick you up a copy?
    quote]

You are the best Lafayette and this would be appreciated once again as I don’t see any shows in the Cleveland area coming up in the Spring. I’ll send you a money order or buy you a drink next time JM is in the Detroit / Windsor area.
Enjoy the CD release party in Columbus.

Congratulations Lucinda, Tom O and the rest of the troupe to produce such a fine deluxe double CD.
The transistion from Mr. Wakeman’s warning comments ” These are Masters ! Please handle with Care “on the back cover of the liner notes pays high compliments to the re-mastering that was achieved.

So, now I have the Koch re-issue, this re-re-issue, the live CD from El Rey 9/10/2007, the original bootleg from Eindhoven and the rebroadcast of the 3rd & Lindsley Lightning 100 web site. That’s a lot of S/T to enjoy.
I particularly like Lu’s between song banter on the live recordings.

    lwj
EDIT for the co-moderators and Mr. WebMaster I wanted to upload a couple parts of the liner notes to this thread but no go. Are the Gremlins still about ?

Thanks Lafayette, but I think it’s a darn shame that theroretically I can save the entire MP3 album from this site before its offical release. I guess musicians main revenue stream these electronic days comes from their live shows rather then record sales.
I will patiently wait for Angela to return to the Cleveland area (in better weather) to get my CD.
    Meanwhile, I love her voice on cuts # 10 and # 5.
She is doing all the right things to promote thru videos, radio stations and magazine articles exactly the way Erika Wennerstrom of the HB’s got into the big time.

Ya gotta get her on WNKU radio.

A full house according to reports at Waterloo Records, I’m sure stoger will be along shortly with his usual comprehensive reporting.
But, in the meantime folks, we got a NEW song “Somewhere This Way Comes”, which, I believe this was originally called “Something Wicked This Way Comes”
Love it, Lu is accompanied by local Austin guitarist Brad Rice.

    Randy Leago?

Pull out your DVD Live from Austin, TX 1998 and watch Randy on the Hammond and squeeze box.
OR, watch 10 minutes of “Joy” from Merlefest in 1999. Randy is featured at the 5 minute mark on the Hammond.

OK, lwj, I raise the white flag of surrender and won’t even mention the names “Jim Lauderdale” or “Don Heffington” or “Paul Bryan” (I’m shaky myself on this last one) here.

And now to the Saxon matinee. . .

You are correct on Paul Bryan-toured with Lu in 2006.

Ohers: Randy Leago, Richard “Hombre” Price, Bo Ramsey and it goes on and on ➡ ➡ ➡

    Fun project to research.

A repeat treat for all of us.
The full one hour rebroadcast from Lightning 100’s audio archives.
Scroll down to #14 and enjoy Lu’s between song commentary.

Note for whiskeyboy, we had exchanged a couple of PM’s on this to see if another recording was available, so here you go.

A review from last night Austin 360

First Lu’s contributions, an excerpt from the article.

A pairing of Lucinda Williams with Roky Erickson on Roky’s “Starry Eyes” might have been magic but turned into a sonic trainwreck; even so, just seeing the two onstage together was a moment to remember.
    The video.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVP70xiF6X4

Tributes to departed artists abounded as well. Williams paid respects to two ill-fated Texas legends, Janis Joplin and Blaze Foley, with her songs “Port Arthur” and “Drunken Angel.”

Before the website gremlins delete this I thought I would post what’s going on with some of Lu’s past band members before she embarks on her World Tour.

What, no Val McCallum data??? Or perhaps you didn’t want to test the gremlin censorship on his band “Jack Shit.”

OK, I only said here are some of Lu’s past members. In view of the deleted posts I was a little nervous to post a thread with the word shit in it for fear WebMASTA would delete it but what the heck.
And a few more former band members.

    1. Val McCallum’s Xmas 2013 gig at McCabes. It’s hilarious.
