    Sure hope it’s a typo.

I live about 1 hour from Toronto for the Queen Elizabeth Theater in October.
    It is a great venue.

Great research on your part Tom.

    Thanks

    Hi Friendly Forum

Looks like a rocking good time for “Little Honey” in Antwerpen

Lots of cowboy (girl) hats in the crowd.

    Enjoy

Lefty, I owe you an apology.

Definitely expect to see your Detroit review posted here, LW. Please & Thank You!

Sorry, didn’t make it to the Motor City due to work commitments but I gave the tickets to my sister and husband who live fairly close to Detroit.
They loved Erika’s strong voice and in particular thought the songs Gray and the Mountain were great.
The venue was in a converted church.

Anyway, all is not lost, as I now have tickets for August 3rd in Toronto at the Kool Haus-a major Indie venue.
The HB’s are opening for the Decemberists- I’ve checked them out- great sound-4 guys & 2 gals in the band.

    Will report.

    Now back to Lu.

From today’s edition of the Toronto Star

The writer ( Ben Rayner ) sat down and listened , watched an advance copy of Vol. 1 Archives over an 8 hour sitting with lots of beer .

He started by snapping the package’s nifty magnetic lock open.

    Enjoy.

    TO Overby
Congrats on a great tour down under.

Maybe Buick 6 will now have some time for their next recording and you can soon announce a contest winner (or winners) as you said earlier in February.

    Quote:

The suggestion box is still open, — this is an ongoing thing and we could have multiple winners over time. I think that right now I would offer up to the winners a pair of tickets to any show and the Buick 6 shirts and cd etc. I was considering also “win a date with Buick 6” but I think that would probably end up going out of bounds. (Insert proper smiley here)
    I just ordered their CD.

    Thanks.

Just checked out You Tube today and 5 songs have been uploaded from Byron Bay.

Tears of Joy, Come On, Essence, Joy and Drunken Angel.
    Good quality vids.
It must have been a night for the return of hats.
Lu wearing her straw hat in Tears of Joy, David on Bass and of course, always Butch on drums.

    Enjoy.

I’ll be seeing Erika in the Motor City next week.

Really enjoyed the show. Just two or 3 miscellaneous comments for a little bit of fun since Stoger, Lefty,fuji81 et al have more than covered the highlights.

    1. Pre-concert, I went to the Abilene bar directly across the street from where Lu’s “Metal Firecracker” was parked and met a lot of nice folks having a brew before the concert. Talked with the bar owner who was attending the concert and he even played a couple of Lucinda’s songs over the sound system.

    2. Lefty’s true identity remains protected. The balding guy wearing a pink and blue shirt sitting in front row centre stage was identified as a “righty” by my friend after getting a hint from Susannah.
Don’t forget Inside Job was also anonymous for a while. Lefty’s real identity will ultimately be revealed-perhaps when he is nominated for Friendly Forum of the Year Moderator.

    3. Susannah convinced me to buy the 5 CD El Rey set. This will almost complete my Lu archives collection and saved me the hassel of pay pal, shipping, customs duties to Canada eh!

    4. Finally, with a two week lull in Lu’s tour until Australia, Lefty can now focus on Erika W. of the HB’s and not the merchandise gal. ( who was delightful to meet )

    5. Aso looking forward to Record Day 09.

Good stuff, guys. Thanks for sharing. Two weeks from tonight, Lu in Ra-cha-cha

STEEL CAGE DEATH MATCH. NO HOLDS BARRED. THIS HAS PAY-PER-VIEW WRITTEN ALL OVER IT.

I’ll be in Ra-cha-cha this Saturday night as a cheerleader to watch this live, not on pay-per-view.

I suggest this match take place beside the merchandise lady’s booth after B6 finishes their opening set.

Anyway, should be a good finale to the first leg of tour 09 before Australia.

A Neil Young tribute set for June 10/09 in Toronto re-creating the legendary Live at Massey Hall concert from 1971. 18 bands and maybe Neil himself.
