Honey? I thought it was hair gel. Well now that explains a few things, not the least of which were some awkward unwelcome advances from a particularly amorous queen bee and a few of her questionable drones.
That’s a riot.
Here is the link where I found it.

LWjettaParticipantI’ve searched the entire Little Honey thread, so I’m revising this post to Re: Little Honey, Little Honey
Found this promo item. Anyone receive it when they bought the CD or attended a show? Was it an authorized promo item TOverby?
Yes, it is a sample of real honey.

LWjettaParticipantTOverby wrote:There is a version of Blue in those recordings but it definitely is not the version heard on the You Tube video. So right now the mystery remains. When we return from Cleveland I am going to have her listen to it–I have a feeling it might have been done for TV show or something like that.Well this is a bit of a mystery -however I have not played it for Lucinda yet and I’m sure she will know.Just a wild guess. Could it be on the following from 2001.
In Touch with Lucinda Williams’ Essence-including a rare-live-in-studio performance of Blue.http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=190801
(Loved Difficult Child ( Port Arthur ) Keep on writing Lu.

LWjettaParticipantOK I just checked Kathleen’s web site and discovered her last concert for 2009 is about a 3/4 hour drive from where I live in Ontario to the historic Riviera Theater in Buffalo this Thursday, Nov. 19th
She is opening for another Canadian band-Blue Rodeo.
Here is a link.http://www.rivieratheatre.org/
Managed to get one ticket, Row F Orchestra front for a grand total of $40.50 thru Vendini tickets. ( none of the robbery fees from Ticketmaster)
The theater has a huge Wurlitzer organ installed since 1925.@tntracy wrote:
Lefty is taking an extended hiatus from our Friendly Forum due to personal & professional reasons. I have communicated with him via PM and he assures me he is doing fine – just that he no longer has time to post / moderate here in the forum. Regarding that, there should be an announcement in the near future regarding forum moderation…
Thans Tnt for Lefty’s status. Are you open for the moderator position?
lwj
LWjettaParticipantGlad you enjoyed it TnT.
Now , I’m on a roll.
Look at Kathleen singing Run @ Bush Hall , London, Eng. from 2008.Here we see Kathleen playing the harmonica ( a la NEIL ) AND whistling would you believe.

Enjoy.

p.s. I’m semi-retired and have lots of time to have a little fun on Lu’s forum and to explore our common ground of good music. ( By the way where’s Lefty? )LWjettaParticipant@Lafayette wrote:
Per your request and lwj’s post of noted dress, Lucinda was indeed dressed in black, with sequined black top, jeans, and her Harley type boots she wore in Chicago (which I love!). No leather main accessory as I predicted.
However I predicted the Bengals win Lafayette.
Looking forward to your You Tube video.lwj

So anyway I don’t think she will be wearing the shirt tonight. Should be a great show -Lucinda has been given the honor of closing the show.
Lafayette was also right. Lu dressed in black last night.
From the following article great to hear about Lu’s new song “Difficult Child”http://www.cleveland.com/popmusic/index.ssf/2009/11/far-flung_admirers_give_janis.html

p.s.1. Thanks TOverby for your story on the shirt and an up-date on what is in store for 2010
2. Lets see your report on the show Lafayette ( maybe after the Bengals win )LWjettaParticipant@tntracy wrote:
Well, among my favorites (besides Lu, of course) are Kathleen Edwards & Pieta Brown. Also, Laura Veirs is very good as well.
Tnt-Kathleen is one of my favorites too. Saw her once live.
She is from my home town of Ottawa , ON.Thought you might like this interview from CBC Television’s The Hour.

I just heard HB will be in my neighborhood on Dec. 26! I have them tentatively penciled in. Hope it works out to see them.
I looked up the venue for this-The historic Southgate House in Newport, KY
You will enjoy the HB’s especially if they are not opening for some other band.
Saw them again two nights ago in Toronto. Short set opening forWolfmother which I did not care about.
Ask Erika again at the merchandise table if she remembers you in Minneapolis.Lafayette wrote

John Patrick, the music host that interviewed Erika, popped his head in and told me Erika barely remembers talking to me at Lu’s reception. She told him she was pretty drunk (but she does remember talking to someone from Cincy, it was just sketchy ). I laughed and told him I wasn’t quite in the shape she was in, however, if she had seen me later in the night, I was sort of drunk,
All the best Lafayette and I hope the Bengals win.

There’s a new station (Shore 104) here in Vancouver BC, that has been playing a couple of her tunes, nice to hear for a change. They have spots where local artists plug the station and one in particular was Colin James and he mentioned Lu as someone it was nice to hear get some airplay.
Thanks bmor.
I just checked out their web site and was listening on-line.
Here is a link for all to enjoy.

She is a good friend of Lu and Tom and was invited to the First Avenue wedding in September. Also, a big welcome to this forum.

This is turning out to be another trivia question. i.e. Lu’s middle name of Gayl.
Anyway, I signed on to You Tube as lwjetta to ask the question as to the origin. Maybe we will get the answer from the person who uploaded the song.If you look again at the You Tube link posted by Drunken Angel, I just received a reply from the person who uploaded this. Simply says “from the album Essence”
I’ll have to dig out my CD and compare again.lwj
LWjettaParticipantAnother nice interview with Erika and the HB’s from ACL 2009
