Here is another nice hockey story from Kathleen you might like since it’s close to your home.
It’s entitled ” Kathleen Edwards and the Atlanta Thrashers.
Love the takeoff on “Asking for Flowers” Oops, sorry “Asking for Bauers”

I’m just filling in time during commercials on a lazy Sunday afternoon while watching the NFL.

    Further “detective ” work
This appears to be the detailed track list from the KGSR CD showing interviews etc. and you will note Blue ( live in studio) track time of 3:37. ( co-incides with Drunken Angel’s “stripped down” version).

Hope when T. Overby receives the CD from Lost Highway, that he can post a picture of the back cover.

First of all, thanks for finding out who the original “15-year-old biotch” was, LWJ, and posting the link to that John Mann video

Here is how “Detective lwj” tracked the John Mann song “My Little Lamb” (Track # 16)
It preceded Kathleen’s biotch reference in track # 17 before she sang “Scared at Night”. The entire concert was taped audio only by CBC Radio’s show Concerts in Demand. Here is the link with certain dialogue bleeped out. The audio is excellent.

What a great autographed KE poster you have. How many of the 30+ Lu Gigs are also signed? I have the set list signed by Lu and the band(except for Butch) from the first night of the 30th Anniversary tour in Toronto posted previously in the shows thread plus a signed WEST tour poster from Lewiston, NY in July/07-Unfortunately signed only by Doug P. and Butch N. Lu went straight to the metal firecracker. It was a special outdoor concert opened by Charlie Louvan.

Back to Kathleen. I see we have at least one other fan in this Forum.
Bob posted under”Got a favorite verse recently reference to ‘McSorley, etc.

    Enjoy the music Tnt.

Lucinda has been working on bits and pieces of songs that she is going to hunker down and finish. We have plans to begin some early pre-production soon after the first of the year, and the goal is to have a new record out by this time next year. She is really excited about getting to work on it, and we have been talking a lot about what direction it will take, but ultimately the songs will dictate where it goes, and I haven’t even seen any of them yet, with the exception of Port Arthur. She keeps them close until they are ready to be born.

    Found this-hope it’s not a re-post.
This would be cute cover art for the new album.

And MUCHAS GRACIAS to you, too, LWJ, for your fine detective work. Without your zeroing in on the KGSR connection, I don’t think we’d be as close as we are to the answer! 😉

I saw your recent posting on Kathleen’s message board.
I’m in real luck-being able to see Kathleen twice within the month.
This time in Toronto on December 14th.
It is a Holiday Jam Concert to benefit the Sick Kids Foundation at one of the best venue’s in Toronto. The Phoenix Theater.

Best of all, tickets were only $39.50 plus a fee of $0.53 thru Ticket Break.
So nice to see some competition for Ticketmaster.

Here is the link to the concert.

This will be a nice pre-Christmas treat for me.

The definitive answer will hopefully soon be at hand. And, if I were a betting man, I’d bet it is going to be this KGSR version.

I agree also, so I thought I would put together a small list of Thank You’s for all those who contrbuted to this Mystery “BLUE

    1. To Drunken Angel for getting us all started.

    2. For the Detective work: Tn”Dick”Tracy, DR.W and Inside Job.

    3. Our 3 Corporate Friends. KGSR-FM,Google and the image below.

Finally the BIGGEST thank you to Lucinda Gayl for her inspiring music.

T Overby, when you receive the proof, any way you could have WEBMASTA add it to the Forum’s record page?

So I wonder what the next trivia question will be in the forum.

Also, IMMSM, I do believe there was a limited edition CD single. eBay’d be your best bet for that…

Cooper, did your dog eat this CD?

P.S.S. If anyone has $450 in spare “change” (I know I don’t!), that is the starting bid for this 16 volume, 32 CD complete set of the “Broadcasts” series (to date)…[/quote]

Tnt How about $1.62 for the complete Volume 9 – 2nd CD from Go Music Now?
You can play the ist 20 seconds or so of “Blue”-I’m sure it’s the You Tube KSGR tape. It lists a track time of 3:38

I think we are coming to the “final” answer.
Perhaps we can ask T. Overby to chime in on this one. He might be able to con his friends over at Lost Highway for a listen.

[quoteFound this from the Austin Chronicle, June 1,2001 re: ” In Touch With Lucinda Williams”.

On the Jody Denberg side of things, listen for an interview with Lucinda Williams titled “In Touch With Lucinda Williams’ Essence” during the KGSR Sunday Night News, 8-10pm. This interview, a nationally distributed promotional disc recorded in Austin last month, will be heard across the country this weekend as many stations are giving away copies of Williams’ new album Essence before it hits stores June 2. The disc includes a live version of “Blue,” recorded at KGSR during South by Southwest 2001, which will also be featured on this year’s Broadcasts comp, with who else but Ms. Lucinda on the cover… — Raoul Hernandez, Andy Langer
Anyone have friends at KGSR to obtain this?

    lwj

Had a little more research fun.

The You Tube version of Blue appears to have indeed come from KGSR FM and is from Broadcasts Volume 9.
    Listen to it below.
