My car is an MGF roadster so I can’t even fit a CD changer
Nice roadster ali-kinda like the Boxter with its mid engine, however MG’s are not available in North America ( probably due to BMW).
Liked your music selection.
Must admit I hadn’t heard of Mazzy Star so I You tubed them. Their song “Fade Into You” sounds great.lwj

To turn “regular text” into an underlined link in blue, you use the “url” tags.
Thanks for the technical advice Tnt. I’ll have to try it.
@LWjetta wrote:Just a beautiful song and someone shot a black and white video with Lu singing it following a major snow storm in small town New England.
Did a little Google on the town of Harwich, Mass where this video was taken.
Found out it comprises several small towns in Cape Cod where I have visited two or three times. It was incorporated in 1674 before “Bonnie Portmore” was composed and has been called the “Birthplace of the Cranberry industry” ummmm
Re. the black and white-thought it most appropriate for the winter scene and the vintage of the song.
I still have an old ( non-digital ) SLR that I keep loaded with black and white film.
Finally, I must have played Lu’s cover of this at least seven or eight times. It’s that good.lwj

had a meet and greet with JM thru the fanclub, wrote a blog and posted it on my myspace page.
Hey “Mellenhead” aka Lafayette
I certainly didn’t expect such a thorough reply to my questions. Thank you.
He obviously was very touched to receive your hand sewn gift of a quilt.
A couple more questions.
John M’s record “Freedom’s Road” has two tracks on it-namely “Ghost Towns” and “My Aeroplane”.
I have toured Northern Ontario as a hobby exploring old ghost towns-Most were created from mining sites long since abandoned. Any special meaning for John?
Is John a pilot ?Re. your award winning retail check contest, I had a real minor example of this when I went to the local Best Buy ( Inside Job’s old haunt ) to purchase Lu’s “Live from 89′ ACL DVD as soon as it was released ( Oct./08 ) and found approx. 25 on the shelves. I liked it so much that I returned 3 days later to buy one as a gift for a friend and there were none left. The kind sales clerk said more were on order and I’ll phone you when they come in. Sure enough, I got another copy about a week later.
OK. Where is Farm Aid likely to take place this year?
Thanks.
lwjLWjettaParticipantYou had better get in on the bidding asap before Itchy Skin sees this.

LWjettaParticipantGood job Tnt.
Were you sub-contracted by WebMasta to do this? or Is he still a little wobbly?
TO wrote
Webmasta is getting wobbly in Cabo this weekend -when he returns I will put this question to him. Hopefully he’ll have some brain cells left.As I reported earlier, I received these notes from Lafayette about a week ago and am thinking of minimizing them and setting them up as a collage in a frame for another great piece of Lu memorbilia.
Thanks again.lwj

However, I just checked Amazon.com
Tnt a couple of questions about Amazon.com
1. You had mentioned in some other post a while ago a yearly subscription. Is this what they call “Amazon Prime” for $79. giving free two day shipping? Seems only for Continental US not to Canada.2. On Amazon.ca they offer free “Super Saver Shipping” on most orders totalling $39. or more-no membership fee is available. Oh well.
3. Finally, you and many others show a link in your posts as underlined. I’ve just been pasteing the http address. So how do you do it in the user control panel?
Back to the Bonnie Portmore video. This was how it looked here in the Niagara region two weeks ago. Now all is melted.
Thanks.
lwjLWjettaParticipantDon’t think I posted this one before.

But, in addition to random “shuffle play”, can you also play individual songs & albums on demand?
Not only this is the best”Friendly Forum”, it also can be a lot of fun.
To expand on your question, sadly my CD changer will shuffle the tunes but only for the one CD playing at the time.
But my Sirius radio has a really neat feature.
it can store up to 30 song titles or 30 artists or 30 sports teams.
This means when I am driving along I will get a beep and it will tell me to switch channels to hear the song or game.
Isn’t technology great Tnt?lwj

Thanks tonyg.
The trouble with this Friendly Forum is that it leads one to more and more great music.
I had never heard of singer / poet Jewel from Alaska before.
Now you have me You Tubeing again.
Also, I found out Doug P. also played for Tracy Chapman before Lu and Jewel. Here is Jewel Kilcher singing “Deep Water” from Woodstock 1999 with Doug P.
What a performance.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etMBmHCsIJM&feature=PlayList&p=A375FCAB2E9B0CFC&index=2

Just a reminder for all you Heartless Bastards fans to tune in to Austin City Limits on January 23rd ( from their taping in June )
Lafayette, I was just checking the PBS schedule for this show.
I have satellite TV and get my PBS signal from Detroit.
It indeed shows HB’s Austin City Limits airing on Jan. 23rd at midnight.
You might want to check with your friends at WNKU for the Cincinnati airing, as I couldn’t see it listed on PBS WCET for Jan.23rd. ( Failing that, maybe Lefty could find out for you. )I’ll be posting a report on the show.
By the way, has anyone on this Forum ever been to a live tapeing at ACL?
What was it like?lwj

Re: The “Love Band”, here is a link to Rockmount Ranch Wear in Denver, CO.
Anyone scroll thru the list of celebrities / singers on the Rockmount Ranch Wear site?
All kinds of people with their photos wearing Rockmount shirts, etc. such as Jay Leno, Rick Nelson, Elvis, Henry Kissenger, etc……..Why wasn’t our Lu in the photo of the Love Band sporting Western garb ?
I thought she loved to shop.lwj

As far as Farm Aid , I have attended every one since 2003 except the one where Lu played in Seattle! You will have to try to come this year, it will be a 25th anniversary show.
Thanks Lafayette for the info on John M’s tour to Canada. Sure hope he makes it back.
Now for a couple of Farm Aid questions.
1.Did you ever get to meet NEIL and Pegi Young and Willie N. at one of your visits? (I’ve seen NEIL twice live )
2. Where will Farm Aid 2010 take place? I read that Vermont is pushing for it and for 2009 in St. Louis, there was some sort of contest to guess the location. Vermont is an easy drive from Ontario where I live. Been skiing at Bolton Valley and Smuggler’s Notch a couple of times.Thanks.
