Just stumbled across another Lucinda Williams discussion forum on the web site Topix.
Here is the link to the forum

Here is one reader’s evaluation of Laura.
Any Lucinda Williams fans like Laura Warshauer?
Posted in the Lucinda Williams Forum

This is too easy, i just hope it’s not too late.. I’ve heard every female singer / songwriter’live’ and everyone in between from Baez and Joni Mitchell in their prime to Jewel and Sheryl Crow to contemporary hybrids like Fergie and Pink. And right smack in the middle sits the greatest and most underrated of all. Lucinda Williams.. Just ask Elvis Costello
or Springsteen or countless other musicians who their girl is!. I’ve been listening and marveling for more than a dozen years. Now what about Laura Warshauer?.. Well i give this phenom less than five years to surpass Lucinda or any one else you can name including country genre as the best all around that’s ever lived!! She’s going to redefine the whole damn concept of female singer / songwriters Providing that management conglomerate behind her and its shareholders don’t burn her the hell out or corrupt her!.. what she needs is a business woman like Madonna behind her and giving advise.. now there’s a helluva shield no one’s gonna screw with! and Madonna is too jaded to be corrupt!- perfect! What a team those two would make.. hey anyone got her number?End Quote

I doubt anyone can surpass Lu in our time but this commentator above seems to think so.
Watch Laura perform “Black Crow” on her My Space site as linked to above in karabear’s posting.
Might as well add her photo.[attachment=0:lpjtnetf]Laura Warshauer.jpg[/attachment:lpjtnetf]

And, since our moderator is partial to the female vocalists Laura will be appearing May 15th at the Hard Rock in Atlanta.
I think she is a truly gifted artist from NJ and really like her sound.

I just received my copy of ACL the other day, lwj. I was motivated while shopping my favorite go-to-place, amazon.com, for all things discontinued. I am a self confessed chocoholic, lovin’ the former Hershey Sticks 60 calories and Hershey’s 100 calories Dark Chocolate,

OK “Edith” but have you ever tried Lindt Swiss Dark Chocolate-more calories but great?
Watch this comparison with Hershey’s for fun.

David, for the sake of clarity, I think maybe you should be more specific & say “xxx% of poll respondents“, not “xxx% of posters“…

Which may be very well what you meant by “posters”, but I thought that I would point that out since there were only eight “poll respondents”

This small pool of stats is the strongest poll that has been produced to-date

David, I know your poll still has a few more days to run, but define “strongest”.
My feeble attempt at a poll entitled “2010 Poll on Lucinda’s Records” drew twenty poll respondents.( You could only vote for one selection in mine)

A standard $15 Ticket Service Fee will apply to each ticket.

+ a standard parking service fee of $20. or $15.(carpool) to park in a remote field applies as stoger reported.
This will bring the “cheapies” price up to $70, which amounts to a hefty 100% mark-up of $35. on a $35. base ticket price.
Makes Ticketmaster looking like a bargain.
+, Heaven forbid, they cut off the power during Lu’s encore on the strictly imposed 10:30 p.m. curfew.

Both are great, but I have to go with the 1998 because of Kenny Vaughn.

So for those very few posters who may not as of yet purchased the superb 1998 DVD from Austin City Limits, 3 recent videos are now on “Lu Tube” to entice you to buy the DVD.

I beat you to the punch probably because you are still painting or were Christmas shopping.
Should be a great show-hope songs from the upcoming album will be featured.
By the way, the Windsor Casino probably has penny slots just like the one here at Niagara Falls.
You can’t “feed” most slots with coins now days, you throw in a ten or twenty bill and when you want to “cash out” you get a paper ticket to redeem.

    RJF-Welcome to Lucinda’s friendly forum.
Bruce was a special guest at a Lucinda concert in London, England back in November/06, but this song “Highway Patrolman” was not done.
Can’t find if Lucinda ever covered this song on World Cafe or elsewhere but another great singer did so.
Dar Williams on the album called “Badlands, a Tribute to Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska”
    Have a listen.

    Hey Lafayette
Starting to look good for Windsor.
I see from Club Cherry Bomb that I, as a non-member can log in to get in on the pre-sale on May 5th.
Still don’t know what the prices are going to be. Any idea?
I’ll treat myself and go for a good ticket.

    tntracy;
Another one possibly to add to your spreadsheet.
Song is called “There’s Something There” written by Bob Woodruff and accompanied by Lucinda.
This was a sound track from the 2005 movie called “Her Minor Thing”

The song was published 01/01/2003 by Red Velvet Records but I can’t find it.
Anyway have a listen to the song from Bob Woodruff’s My Space page.
Just scroll down on the playlist. beautiful song.

davidinmaine, I hope your poll receives a better turn out than my 2 feeble attempts.
There are definitely some good points listed in your poll, some of which I alluded to in my new post under web-site suggestions.
Would be nice to bring back some of the artists you have listed for a “Blast from the Past” but not sure if it’s doeable.
I’m all for a different band opening for the next tour, although there probably is a sound economic reason for Buick 6 opening. Speaking of Buick 6, I have counted at least 5 bands with the same name hailing from LA(Lu’s),the UK,Australia,Austin TX and Winnipeg Manitoba.Perhaps Lu played a big role in the band’s name as she mentioned in the PBS interview by Charlie Rose that Bob Dylan was her favorite artist.
i.e. Dylan’s recording of “From a Buick 6” Here we go.

“Squeeze Box” Yeah, I like this idea from the Who’s song, bring back Randy Leago as per the attached vid. from ACL 1998-“Still I long for Your Kiss”

Let’s also listen to the Who.

AND, to get this thread back on track,

You are not “off track” at all Lafayette.
After all, it was DavidinMaine that brought up the subject of ice-cold root beer with his New Orleans Po’boys.
Now I’m going to provide the link to a Barq’s root beer commercial actually produced in New Orleans.
At one point, Barq’s cases of root beer contained “Barqtoos”
See it’s all linked to Lucinda in one way or another with her tattoo.
In the commercial look at the 10 second mark showing a Lil Devil “Barqtoo” just like Lu’s T Shirt in the store.

    Enjoy the commercial.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeosihIIlCs&feature=related
And as we await DavidinMaine’s preference of root beer brand, I thought I would jump the gun and provide a link to “Sea Dog Root Beer” brewed in Portland, Maine.

p.s. Fascinating show history for Uncle Al’s show from WCPO in Cinci.
I was living in Toronto at the time ( no cable TV or satellite) but we could pull in the ABC (WKBW) signal from Buffalo with rabbit ears and I do remember the show.

Further to your details provided by PM ( with thanks), I now see I can have 1st choice of tickets on Apr. 18th at the venue box office. (no fees)
Looks like Club Cherry Bomb’s loyal fans are getting “shafted”.
Their pre-sale date is listed as Apr. 19-same as Ticketmaster pre-sale.
Short show or not I would like to see JM. Wonder if there is an opening artist.
