Boy Other Stuff TOverby is an understatement. Great news and thanks.
So here is some more “Other Stuff”
I was intrigued by Squidbillies and when I found the info I also stumbled across something that those forum members living in the LA area might find interesting.
The Rhino Records store returns May 17-31, 2010.
Seems Richard Foos the founder of now defunct Rhino is re-locating to NYC and is selling off his entire music, etc. collection as a fund raiser for a non-profit organization that helps in the transition of the unfortunate into employment.
Here is an excerpt from the Rhino site.
Friday, May 28: Life After Rhino: former Rhino employees plus in-store signing of Record Store Days by authors Gary Calamar and Phil Gallo: Screening Final Vinyl film chronicling historic Rhino Records in-store performances by Nick Lowe, Del Rubio Triplets, They Might Be Giants, Lucinda Williams, Steve Wynn and more
And here is the full link to the article.http://www.rhino.com/article/rhino-records-store-returns-may-17-31
So Mr. TOverby, is Lu going to be in attendance?
Also I wonder what song or songs Lucinda did in the Record store and when.
Might as well add the ad for Rhino Records sale.lwj

Izzy Zaidman formerly with the Wayne Hancock Band now with Izzy and the Kesstronics performing “Down Past the Bottom”
Have a listen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc81wsx4I-AI sent a personal message on You Tube to Izzy asking about the song.
We’ll see if we get an answer to solve the mystery.

Thanks for looking lwj! The mystery still continues as to the origin of “Down In The Bottom.”
Looks like we will have to emulate the search initiated by Drunken Angel back in October for “This Blue”-took over 2 months to solve.
I’ve Googled but haven’t Yahooed yet to find the origin of the song.
If all else fails we could write directly to Greg at his MY Space site.
Loved his video with his Band of Angels.

I didn’t know anything about Greg Garing so I tried to find info on him to see if “Down Past The Bottom” was his song.
Gosh thanks for the beloved lwj comment, you are now leading into your Masters in”Luology” Lafayette.
Greg only has released one album called “Alone” and one Ep, neither of which contain “Down Past the Bottom”
I googled and couldn’t find the source of this song. However, as I’ve mentioned before in this forum, it’s amazing how much is linked to Lucinda.
Here we can connect the ……….and find out how another Vaughan got connected with Lucinda.
An article from WPLN Nashville Radio about Kenny Vaughan. You can also listen to Kenny’s interview.
http://wpln.org/?p=191
And here is an excerpt.
QUOTE:
Nashville also offered plenty of work. Vaughan got hired for a road job by country duo Sweethearts of the Rodeo. He played on Lower Broadway with eccentric honky-tonk artist Greg Garing, which led to meeting Lucinda Williams and a job with her. There were studio sessions as well, including a fair amount of mainstream country, which he endured more than enjoyed.END QUOTE:
Nice how all the ………fit together.
lwjLWjettaParticipantFor those who are unable to attend a live performance of Anne, here for your viewing pleasure is a full 67 minute professionally recorded concert in very high quality. It took place at the Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy, OH on August 29, 2009.
Anne is sporting pigtails and wearing a neat hat.
There is excellent and comical dialogue with the audience.
Loved her lap steel at the 49 minute spot of the video.
You will not find this on You Tube.
It comes compliments of Vimeo.com and I discovered this site while looking for Heartless Bastards videos.
Do a search of the site for your favorite artist and see what comes up.
I’ve already found Lucinda, Jim Lauderdale, Heartless Bastards and the Arcade Fire.In the meantime watch Anne.

She’s got some Cat Power bangs going on there, LWj
Time to toss out a few Led Zep covers, Erika! (just for fun)For Lefty and all other HB fans, this next video eliminates the Cat Power bangs.
This is a full 40 minute DVD quality of Erika and the HB’s recorded at the Casbah in San Diego on May 1st.
Dave’s drumset is sporting new artwork and the last 3 songs has a violin accompanyment.Lefty, y’all have to fly to Austin to see her or go to your record shop at the Carousel Mall to buy her new CD whenever it comes out cause it looks like Syracuse is “Everybody knows this is Nowhere” as far as upstate NY goes for their tour.
Enjoy the video and this will bring them back to the top of the heap once again..

Although, Detroit on July 23rd is a possibility for me( 4 hr. drive)
This post will still keep the HB’s at the top of the heap.
