LWjettaParticipant
I will be tuning in tommorrow night on ABC for the CMA awards ceemony Lafayette.
Tell me did you make it to Chicago in September for Farm Aid #30 and if so was it a great success as usual and how many Farm Aid events have you now attended?
thanks.

LWj: Were you at either Ottawa or Toronto ❓
Negative Lefty.
I contemplated Toronto since Erika and the HB’s were appearing next day following Lu in Toronto but it was a little pricey for me.
Ottawa would have been nice as I went to school there and still have friends there but i opted out of the 5-6 hour drive.
Thankfully Tom O. is doing a superb job of reporting Lu’s travels.lwj
LWjettaParticipantA brief review from Billings.
I quote one sentence that says it all about our Lu.
Lucinda is the best thing that ever happened in Billings since Bob Dylan played the Shrine,” said Cass Sullivan who took in Williams’ set from the front row.

Your commentary is outstanding.
Many thanks.lwj
LWjettaParticipantJust wondering Lafayette if you made it to Amos Nashville show.
I read that it was a pretty rainy time for the event.lwj

LWjettaParticipantA great “Triple Header” show last night at Artpark in Lewiston, NY bordering on the Niagara River.
We were treated to the first 1/2 hr by a singer named Rachael with her guitar and keyboard, followed by 1 hr. and 10 minutes rocking with Amos and then an almost 2 hours with David Gray. (What a bargain of music for $60.00)
The venue is most unique with seating for 2,400 inside (it was a full house) plus the entire rear wall opens like a garage door to accommodate more fans sitting on the lawn.Unlike stoger who seems to commit to memory set lists, comments on everything LU plus many other artists, I did not bring a notepad for the song list.
Amos opened with Windows are Rolled Down. The 3rd song was Bottom of the Barrel with a funny intro by Amos stating that everyone in the 5 piece band went swimming in the Niagara River except for the drummer.
Sweet Pea, Over the Rainbow?, Jesus and Keep it Loose were some of my favorites.
Amos dedicated one of the songs from Mission Bell to 2 friends passed away earlier in the year.
There was 1 particular song that was Kool in that for about a minute Amos and Annie the bass player extended their arms high and no singing , just clapping their hands to the music much like a Flamenco dancer does.
Really enjoye Zach with his multi-instrument talents.
What else ? I met a nice couple in the food truck lineup who are really huge Amos fans. Their last show they attended was at Farm Aid in Saratoga. (I believe you were at that one Lafayette).
I also purchased Live at Red Rocks.
I really can’t comment on David Gray since I was not aware of his background, but boy he gave quite the performance.
Enjoy your shows next week Lafayette.lwj
LWjettaParticipantI picked up on release day last Tues. the HB’s latest studio offering.”Restless Ones”
A very strong follow up to Arrow and the Mountain.
Track 10 is called “Tristessa’ and is already one of my favorites. It has a very catchy sound to it.
Ironically the HB’s are in Toronto tonight, but I already bought a ticket to see the double bill of Amos Lee and David Gray for tonight in Lewiston, NY. Should be a good one.lwj
LWjettaParticipantGreat reporting as usual stoger.
You have the knack of painting a picture of the scene in detail even with the elements pouring down.
I have trouble keeping 4 or 5 songs clear in my head, have to write everything down.
Funny, I pulled out my DVD collection a week or so ago and watched Neil Young’s “Friends & Relatives” live from Red Rocks September, 2000.
Same scenario with the downpours-Pegi Young and the other back-up singer had to back up to the rear of the stage to stay dry.
Maybe Lu should have ended the show not with Rockin’ but with the Doors.
Here’s a video of Lu from Germany in 2007 performing “Riders on the Storm”

Summer and Fall with Lu is going to be a great run.lwj
LWjettaParticipantToronto, ON Sat. September 19 The Urban Roots Festival at historic Fort York (original name for Toronto going back to the War of 1812).
Lucinda and many others including Wilco.
Details.

Maybe I could be called a Junior FF road warrior. 😆Looks like her schedule is fast becoming a Festival tour for 2015. Hope her set list isn’t shortened too much.

LWjettaParticipantWhen Amos Lee rolled into Red Rocks in August 2014 he had been on tour for almost a year in support of his fifth studio album Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song, but this concert in particular was something special. His first headlining date at the legendary venue, and backed by the Colorado Symphony with arrangements composed just for that evening. Lucky for us, the experience was captured. Live at Red Rocks will be available on June 16th and is a 14 track career spanning set.
“Live at Red Rocks” Hopefully I can buy this CD on June 20th at the show in Lewiston, NY
Looking forward to it.lwj
