Thanks for the info Lafayette, love to see Lucinda included here.
LikeARoseParticipantThank you for confirming that the song is in the movie TOverby! I always love to see Lucinda’s music in television shows/ movies. I want others to discover her beautiful songs. And this is a compelling movie to have a song in…
ParkerCA, I definitely recommend the movie. It’s about transformation. And Jeff Bridges is a wonder in it.LikeARoseParticipantI’m interested to see everyone’s favorite songs.
For me, on this album it’s Satisfied Mind. Love the wisdom and raw acheyness dripping from her voice.LikeARoseParticipantRay,thank you so much for the post and the link.
This is one of my favorite Lucinda songs and I’ve never heard it performed live before.
Absolutely beautiful.LikeARoseParticipanthttp://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/atoz/2007/07/last_night_lucinda_williams_at.php
LikeARoseParticipantWe got all excited and were eagerly awaiting the sound of Lucinda’s voice, and then are hopes were dashed.
I’d love to have her songs reach a large audience of potential fans on a beloved show like this one.LikeARoseParticipantThe concert at Radio City was exquisite. The sound was crystal clear, and highlighted Lucinda’s ragged touched by an angel ravaged by Lucifer voice. I’ve never been to Radio City before, this is how Lucinda’s voice is meant to be heard, it was a reverent and gorgeous marriage of venue and artist. The audience was raptly attentive, as if we were at an opera or a play. No one wanted to miss the poetry of her lyrics or the nuances of her voice. A master at the height of her creative powers. (And Doug Pettibone was amazing too.) Lucinda said she was honored to be there, that it had taken her 30 years to get from playing the streets of New York to Radio City Music Hall.
It was something old and something new- songs like “Drunken Angel,” “Lake Charles” shared the stage with songs from WEST including “Rescue,” “Unsuffer Me”.
And something borrowed; the haunting final encore was “Hard Time Killing Floor Blues.”
Lucinda said that she wanted to honor the mucisians that inspired her and how relevant the lyrics of “Hard Time…” are today.
And it was beautifully blue.LikeARoseParticipantEnjoyed reading everyone’s selections.
It’s really hard to narrow it down to just five!1. Steal Your Love
2. Like A Rose
3. Rescue
4. Side of the Road
