Lu review from the Albany TU…

It was my first time seeing Lu and the HBs live, and I was not disappointed in the least. The quality of the sound was extraordinary. Lu seemed at ease and eager to please. Got to meet and chat briefly with the Bastards after the show. They’re good “kids” and I wish them well. I do believe Erika is the real deal. 8)
Instead of stuffy, the TU writer found the Egg crowd “somewhat rowdy.” It’s all relative, isn’t it?
You hit a certain age and the memory banks aren’t what they used to be. Doesn’t hurt to have a safety net. 😉 It’s one of the prevailing theories as to why Dylan no longer plays guitar live – – it’s easier to have the lyrics in front of him on the keyboards.

Been ringing out the year with “The Minus 5” by The Minus 5. Also is referred to as “the gun album.” Members of REM, Wilco, the Decemberists, and a host of others joined forces for this. Sort of sounds like the Beatles, Squeeze and Nick Lowe to me. Sort of sounds like pure pop for the Apocalypse. Enjoy it while you can! 8)
Been enjoying lately very much “Doug Sahm and Band;” a ’73 album reissued this year by Collector’s Choice Music. Only took me 33 years to find this gem!
“You in Reverse” by Built to Spill is a fine effort by Doug Martsch & co. One of my personal “albums of the year.”
