LeftyParticipant
Thanks for checking in, Stoger. How many more shows are you attending?
LeftyParticipantCongratulations, Peterweets.
Y’know, you could come east to beautiful Rochester, NY (aka “Ra-cha-cha”) and have your wedding before/during/after Lucinda’s Oct 12 show!

Classic rock+Springsteen+Animal Collective+Tom Petty+Velvet Underground+’70s AM radio+The Walkmen+distortion+Dylan? Possibly.
Who cares? Listen to it anyway! First cut’s a killer!
LeftyParticipantTerrific sound & atmosphere at The Egg!
LeftyParticipantGet well soon, Sister.
LeftyParticipantGood post, Ray. I find it interesting that only guys have responded to this thread so far. (I’m assuming Philthy that you’re a guy).

A Different Tune for ImusBy Jacques Steinberg; Compiled by Julie Bosman
NY TIMES, August 10, 2008In the latest chapter of his comeback following the racially and sexually charged exchange that got him fired by CBS Radio and MSNBC last year, Don Imus is taking on the role of impresario. On Sept. 16 New West Records plans to release “The Imus Ranch Record,” in which 13 artists selected by Mr. Imus — including Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakum and Patty Loveless — perform cover versions of songs chosen by Mr. Imus. Ms. Loveless, for example, sings “Silver Springs,” a Stevie Nicks song. Lucinda Williams sings “Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” which was made famous by Waylon Jennings. Big & Rich, however improbably, put their best spin on the Beastie Boys’ “You’ve Got to Fight for Your Right to Party.” Mr. Imus intends for the CD to benefit the Imus Ranch, which he and his wife, Deirdre, operate in New Mexico for the benefit of children with cancer and other diseases.

“Money doesn’t talk, it swears.”
LeftyParticipantWait’ll you hear all the earlier albums, Rob. You won’t be disappointed.
Welcome to our Friendly Forum. 🙂LeftyParticipantSounds like the writer of that last review was suffering through a hemorrhoid flare-up. Feel better soon! Maybe she should attend another Lu show.
Part of the “fun & mystery” of going to a concert is that it’s a L-I-V-E event. I go see Dylan when I can because he just might “bring it” on a particular night…and maybe it’s just for a few songs…but it’s always worth it to me.
8)LeftyParticipantThe version you relate, A-I-A, is much more appealing to me than one involving a tour bus.
LeftyParticipantThank you all for your comments, and welcome to the newcomers.
Tim, you had a very telling remark, imho…
“…what I thought I saw & heard was the band rallying around their boss and just playing so hard that they got her spirit back into the show.”
If that doesn’t define a band, what does ❓ -
