    Loved the report, Lefty!

We need a friendly forum fan club show!

Amen to both comments. I missed the last big Lu-natic night at First Avenue.

Lefty, who picked up the drinks tab ?

CB: Both Lucinda & Tom responded enthusiastically to a Friendly Forum group gathering at a future show. That needs to be a New Year’s resolution for 2013! 💡

LWj: Actually, Terry bought me a scotch on the rocks while we waited for Lu & crew to show up at the bar. I was scotchless when we chatted with L&T. Was enjoying the conversation too much to bother hoisting a glass!

    hello in there, hello.

    no duets? why?

I got the impression from Lucinda that there really wasn’t much time to rehearse a duet(s) with JP. She sang the lyrics to “Paradise” holding a scrap of paper in her hand. Regardless, she did great, and it was a nice closer to the evening. I did tell Lucinda afterwards that I was hoping she and JP would do “Angel from Montgomery.” She just smiled in reply. 🙂

Sorry for the delay, gang. It was an excellent evening last night. The Palace is one of those old-timey, ornate wonders of days gone-by. The stage actually was two-tiered, with the performers occupying the upper portion. I could imagine a few Lu-natics dancing on the lower tier, IF that had been allowed (CB, TNT…). My friend Terry and I had second row, center section seats…outstanding.

    Setlist with some paraphrased comments:

    World w/o Tears
    People Talking
    CWOAGR
    Greenville
When I Look at the World
Tryin’ to Get to Heaven [Lucinda & Tom told me afterwards that one was for me — aw shucks, ma’am, thanks — I told Lucinda she owns that song; I think she liked hearing that.]
Blessed [after which Lucinda mentioned again what an honor it was for her to be with John Prine. Her words were quite heartfelt.]
    I Lost It
Drunken Angel [mentioned both Blaze & Townes; Blaze passed out on a pool table came up]
    Changed the Locks
    Killing Floor Blues
[More genuine affection expressed for John Prine — ‘We go back a ways; he’s an inspiration; I’m mesmerized by this man.’]
    Joy

After JP’s outstanding set, Lucinda came out to sing Paradise with him. I think she was a tad nervous, but it came off terrifically.

JP highlights for me were Souvenirs, Storm Windows & Sam Stone.

Terry & I had a nice visit with Lucinda & Tom at a local watering hole afterwards. Talked about interior decorating & furniture, getting a bunch of us Lu-natics together one day to see a show, and Lucinda’s genuine concern for JP’s overall health. Good stuff! 🙂

Great report Paul. Matt is the merch guy, yes no?

Different Matt I think, tony–though our merch guy is a multi-tasker. Hell though, it might be the same.

Will try to get to the bottom of this tomorrow night in “Smallbany” ❗ 😕

Those 3 Days [tour debut or bust, tony g You didn’t get that one in New England, I daresay. No hesitation, no waffling, straight into it, nailed, one of the best moments of this tour year for me]

You have my attention, perfesser! Care to elaborate?

Wow — Jerry would have turned 70 today. Only in the last year or two have I come to appreciate really how talented he was.
