The show is at the Chumash Indian Casino, which is this ridiculous cement montrosity smack in the middle of peaceful, buccolic Santa Ynez. Wineries abound.
I did not attend the concert of which you speak. Maybe I will charge the stage for Lyle Lovett.
I have actually never seen either of these gentlemen. I am going as a guest of someone who is a fan.
I saw Lyle a few years ago with his Big Band. k.d. Lang opened and I have to say, I enjoyed k.d. more so than I did Lyle, however, it seems Lyle & John Hiatt are great touring buds. Should be a good show. Be sure to have someone take pics of you crashing stage.

ParticipantThis looked (and sounded) like an amazing show. I hope “Where Is My Love” makes an appearance.

ParticipantIt’s like watching a perfectly choreographed dance routine, right down to ” blood spilled out from the hole in your heart” to “kiss your brow, taste your sweat.”

ParticipantI am looking forward to this production, tnt, as well as the invite to Chez Tracy. As long as JM isn’t involved in the acting parts (and he isn’t)…we’re good.

Stephen King announces his collaboration with John Mellencamp is stage ready, after 11+ years.
ATLANTA — Horror writer Stephen King says his first play, “The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County,” featuring haunting melodies by rocker John Mellencamp, is finally ready for the stage.
The musical, based on a legend about the deaths of two brothers and a girl at a rural cabin, was originally scheduled to debut at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre two years ago, but was postponed.
King says Mellencamp and the play’s director weren’t getting along. The new director is Susan Booth. [my take: 😆 ]
King says Mellencamp wanted it set in the South because he admires Tennessee Williams. King says that worked for him because he’d been reading William Faulkner novels.
He says the play, which opens next April, was designed for a small stage, small cast and small technical requirements, “sort of the anti-Spiderman.”

Participant“Come To Me Baby” by Howlin Wolf, as noted by stoger—how awesome it would have been, giving a nod to Chess Records’ roots. It still hasn’t been clarified if it was indeed the song on the list.
