LafayetteParticipant
I wonder then if it’s just a one off.
LafayetteParticipantlwj – John has some of his paintings on permanent display at an Art Center in his hometown of Seymour – Southern Indiana Center for the Arts aka SICA – a place I suspect you would appreciate.
More information on SICA ( a house he purchased from a childhood friend and converted into an art center)
> http://www.soinart.com/The media link on John’s website has photos of some of his paintings but it’s not the same as viewing them on the canvas they are painted. His early style has been described as German impressionism and my added thoughts would include “on the dark side.”

Here are 2 links from a friend’s flickr site (he’s quite the photographer). These paintings were traveling with the “No Better Than This” tour and on display in the lobby of the theaters.

LafayetteParticipantYesss! I ordered as soon as I received the news in my inbox. 😀

Aaaaarrggh, I was also having problems with the
hotel’s internet, gave up after 2 hours. I have video of both ‘Lafayette’ (for Lafayette) with Sara and Sean Watkins, as well as ‘Abandoned’. It’ll have to wait till I get home on Sunday to post. Today and tomorrow are travel days, and tonight is the finale show. 😀 Yessssssssss! 8)
LafayetteParticipantI caught this show during it’s Cincinnati stop. Solo acoustic, no opening act, just Shelby and two guitars. She came out to sign merch and I did a little Lu name dropping 😳 and she said “Oh, I love her, too!”
A review from Cincy show.

LafayetteParticipantEnjoy, tonyg! One day I’ll make it to the West coast. 🙂
LafayetteParticipantDoug Pettibone posted on facebook he is joining Lu at Royce Hall for tomorrow’s show!
I had a ticket to this show, plans to fly WEST, but decided I had better not spend the $$$ right now for the trip. UGH, I was just feeling really good about my decision after college tuition bills and Christmas bills just came in until I read this. Lucinda, Blake, and Doug +David & [My Name Is] Butch – how’s that for a “Pinch Me I’m Dreaming” tour? [hat tip to West Words for coining said phrase]
LafayetteParticipantThat.was.hilarious!
Lu needs to start her own etiquette column.
Dear Lucinda
LafayetteParticipantHappy New Year!
News of the new record along with an MP3 of “Only For You”

LafayetteParticipantI had a subliminal Lu moment – at least I like to think as such. I called my favorite music host the other day, it’s been a long while since we spoke – to inform him Larry Crane, Mellencamp’s former lead guitarist that parted ways via an acrimonious split, has reconciled with JM after 20 years. JP, the music host, knew Larry from his days as music director at a radio station in Bloomington and is a fan of his, so he was very interested to hear the news. We chatted, I hung up, and about 20 minutes later JP plays “Copenhagen” followed by a Larry Crane song followed by an early obscure JM song from the Larry Crane days. I like to think he threw that Lu song in because he knows I’m a fan of hers as well. 🙂
LafayetteParticipant^love^
LafayetteParticipantLooking forward to it, thanks for posting, Sandy! Even more exciting (for me) – I have it programmed in the new DVR I received for Christmas. You know, one of those gifts that goes twofold – as in, my better half uses it more than me. 😆 There will be no missing the talented Blake and his better half, even if I forget to watch!
LafayetteParticipantClip 2 – “Coming Down The Road” at Sun Studios in Memphis.
LafayetteParticipantHere is an excerpt from the movie – JM recording “No One Cares About Me” with Marc Ribot, David Roe, Andy York, and TBone Burnett at Sun Studios in Memphis. Some commentary with Mark Ribot and David Roe.
LafayetteParticipantI ran into Kurt Markus, the photographer, after the show where I was filmed, in Dayton, OH and he recognized the hat, and told me he had filmed me and hoped I didn’t mind. 8) I was hoping I had made it into the film shown before JM’s shows but I was invariably cut [the girls next to me were in it]. So, yeah, it’s fun to see!
