My reservation at the B & B was cancelled by the proprietor. I knew it was too good to be true.

Right now, I’m booked into a room at the Holiday Inn that is more than twice the cost I’m usually willing to pay. Will still be looking into alternatives.

Thanks, lwj, today is the first day in the last 5 I woke up feeling so much better. Yeah, I’m sorry I missed Amos but after looking at some pictures from the show that night (band dressed in coats and hats) and reading comments from people at the show, it was the absolute right call. It sounded like it was freeezing that evening.

Okay, I’m glad you posted about making reservations. I did reserve a room as a backup (but it was the wrong date!) at the Holiday Inn (host hotel) at a price gouging cost (unbelievable!). HOWEVER, I was also looking at B & B’s and found this place. I’m not sure why rooms are available (oh, my) but I just booked an ensuite (I have never stayed at a B & B before) for less than half of the room I booked at Holiday Inn. The other two rooms are available but they have shared bath. Here is website. If you see any reason that would be a good reason not to stay, please let me know. ๐Ÿ˜† http://www.misenerhouse.com/index.html

I love impromptus. I’ve never experienced one – Mr. Mellencamp use to stop in a small bar in Bloomington back in the day.

Found this on twitter, posted by Barley’s in Knoxville. Apparently the band stopped in for an impromptu (I’m guessing after the festival). The video is dark. Amos covers “Ophelia.”

Thank you, lwj, for posting that personal story about Amos. Quite the testament.

Yes, I was so disappointed. My family was stunned, ready to call 911. ๐Ÿ˜† I didn’t get out of bed hardly all day yesterday.

I feel much better today, but still not 100 percent.

And, even more disappointing, can’t get my Amos fix as he has only 2 other shows listed. One overseas, and one in Texas the day I’ll be in Bowling Green for a free JM show.

Itโ€™s long been said that the blues — in all its forms — is one of the most potent means to transform pain into beauty. Lucinda Williams has known that since she began devouring music as a youngster growing up in Louisiana, and sheโ€™s been finding new ways to perform that alchemical reaction ever since.
With her new album West, a disc that may well be Williamsโ€™ most personal work to date, the three-time Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter channels both her emotion and restive creative energy into a startling set of songs that touch on both darkness and redemption.
We are honored to welcome Lucinda and her band to the Chautauqua stage and look forward to a memorable summer evening of music.
