I wanted to write a blog about our AMA Music Awards weekend last fall and came up short.

We (tnt, stoger, & westwords) were having many ‘connect the dots’ experiences and Hayes Carll was one of them, in a roundabout way.

We went to a nice little bar and grill on Broadway, sauntered up to the bar to order some drinks and appetizers. As it turned out, Hayes’ road manager was sitting next to us and we had a great 20 minute or so conversation with him. We asked where Hayes’ was and we were told “back in the room, all tucked in.”

Lu will be breaking her house rules with the Covington, KY (Cincinnati) and Nelsonville shows being added to the fray. Columbia, MO is the day before and Pittsburgh the day after Nelsonville. I’m going to try my best to make it to Covington, the only snafu is getting a ride home (as long as our flight lands on time).

I’m not sure if Lafayette is delighted or devastated; I think the summer vacay to Florida is around this time. Hope this timing works for you! xo

    7/25 — Covington, KY
    7/26 — Nelsonville, OH

Acccckkkkkkkkkk! I saw Covington, KY and was jumping up and down without realizing I would be on vacation . 😮 [Thanks, West Words] We return on 7/25 and our flight lands at 7:11. I may just have husband drop me off (Covington is on the way home from airport) and I’ll catch a ride home. 😆 A Mickey Mouse shirt would be appropriate, right?

Nelsonville will work though. Love that place! IF I can squeeze in Covington, KY & Nelsonville I may not go to Pittsburgh.

Hey, Lafayette you’d better head over to the Park & Vine Cafe-Over the Rhine in Cinci to sample Jesse Ebaugh’s “Jesse Hee Haw” sandwich. 😆

I will have house video/audio of Lu’s songs to put up in a few days.

Fantastic! Lu sounded great, even if it was past everyone’s bed time. 😆 8)

I found this while looking for the name of the song Shelby performed off her record “Revelation Road.”

“Will The Circle Be Unbroken” performed by Lu, Shelby, and as referenced last year at the AMA’s, Buddy Miller’s All Star Band.

So, yes, lwj, I watched the nominations in between spring cleaning windows.

Buddy Miller kicked off the event with a song they covered when I saw his “All Star Band” perform last year at Cannery Row at a showcase after the AMA’s – a blues song in which the title certainly escapes me (clueless) 😳 but I certainly remember the performance.

I loved Shelby’s performance of one of the songs from her recent “Revelation Road.” Once again, title escapes me but I certainly remember her performance of that song when I saw her solo last fall at a Cincinnati stop. HA! I was namedropping with her when I had her sign a poster for me — telling her I discovered her first at Farm Aid and then by much talk here in the FF and I was a fan of Lu’s. Her eyes got bright and she said “I love her, too!”

“Will The Circle Be Unbroken” was simply amazing, as evidenced by the YouTube.

Can’t wait to see Lu’s uploads.

    Great reports!

I saw Shannon McNally open for Mr. Mellencamp in 2002.

Nice write up on Shannon from that time period.

I watched last year’s webcast. I was introduced to the Civil Wars.

Can’t wait to see Lu. YAY technology!
