LafayetteParticipant
Thanks for the info, Professor. I did a little research on Apartment Nine. Took me all of 30 seconds with wikipedia.
Apartment Nine was written by Bobby Austin and Johnny Paycheck, according to Tammy’s wiki page. It was her first single.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammy_Wynette
Her first single, Apartment No. 9 (written by Bobby Austin and Johnny Paycheck), was released in December 1966, and just missed the Top 40 on the Country charts, peaking at No. 44. It was followed by “Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad,” which became a big hit, peaking at number three. The song launched a string of Top Ten hits that ran through the end of the ’70s, interrupted only by three singles that didn’t crack the Top Ten. After “Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad” was a success, “My Elusive Dreams”, a duet with David Houston, became her first number one in the summer of 1967, followed by “I Don’t Wanna Play House” later that year.[5] “I Don’t Wanna Play House” won Wynette a Grammy award in 1967 for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, one of two wins for Wynette in that category

The poor old lady (can we define old here?) wasn’t screaming into stoger’s ear? Stoger, can you hear us??
Thanks, all, for the play by play!
LafayetteParticipantGreat stuff! The West Coasters have more fun…
LafayetteParticipantWelcome back, stoger! *ducks for cover in case welcoming comments aren’t welcomed 😆 *
LafayetteParticipantPerhaps we will see numbers like these from Kenneth, opening for Lu as a duo.

Anyone see a resemblance to Blaze Foley? I do.

LafayetteParticipantI saw Kenneth was opening for the shows I’m attending. I know I’m going to like him from what I’ve heard via his website and YouTube. It will be interesting to see if he plays sans shirt.
LafayetteParticipantI haven’t seen Amos play for over a year. 🙁
LafayetteParticipantHappy Belated Lu Year to all!

It’s still available Lafayette in WFUV’s archives. It looks like the concert will be available for quite a while.
See my link immediately prior to your post.
I listened to it again this a.m.-a full 58 minutes of Lu. Gotta love the live broadcasts complete with Lucinda’s commentary.lwj
Thanks. Busy with holidays but hopefully will be able to check soon.
LafayetteParticipantMy husband received a Nook from Santa and brought this to my attention after downloading his Times subscription – the 2012 Tribute edition. They included 8 additional tributes to those featured in the hard copy, under a “More Who Mattered Section” with Lu’s tribute to Levon Helm featured as one of the eight.
The copy as follows:
The last time I saw Levon Helm was when I opened two shows for him in Toronto in 2011. He and his band backed me up on my song “Crescent City,” and I sat in on “Evangeline,” by the Band. I was struck by his youthful spirit and the camaraderie that filled the stage during those special nights. He was sweet and generous with his time. His handshake was warm and strong. His music still said, “I’m alive and I love what I do.” When he grinned his sweet Levon grin, there was still that sparkle in his eyes. Most of all, his Southern country-boy humor was as alive as ever. As we talked backstage, I reminded him that my dad’s family hailed from Arkansas, like Levon did. He smiled, took my hand and said, “Well, I won’t hold that against you.”
LafayetteParticipantI haven’t been able to listen to the concert. Do they podcast at some point?
