Thanks, Tony G, for posting this article and that hauntingly, beautiful photo of TP and Lu. Viv sent it to us (West Words and myself) via text today, (as I confess, it’s been a long time since I’ve roamed these forum halls).

Music is a healing force. Hugs, Viv.

Bloomington was a fantastic show, and, yes, Bloomington so R.O.C.K. s. <—[Mellencamp reference].  I’ve seen Lu twice at the Buskirk-Chumley and once at the Bluebird, on the Honeymoon tour. I caught a drum head and drum stick at The Bluebird when Butch threw it out to the crowd.

So good to see stoger and West Words. I sat with a Mellencamp friend who had never seen Lu live, and was on his bucket list. A lot of my JM friends know how much Lu means to me. It’s great to share a show with them. Speaking of drum heads, my JM friend thought the drum head at the merch table was really cool. He also thought it was signed by “Butt.”  😆  I told him, no…”Butch.”

We are so fortunate to have Lu touring as she does. I hope she keeps on rocking the free world for many years to come.

What a fantastic show! Thanks for posting the set list.

I love it when Protection kicks off the show. You know it’s going to be a good night. “Those Three Days”  😎  “Hot Blood” – sexy as hell in my book.

The venue was a recent refurbish, Lu loved it, and when she compared it to The Fillmore, I knew the night was ‘on.’ The sound was fantastic, wall to wall people, and my favorite regional band opened the show. Lu was on fire. I love GA shows. Nothing better.

Always good to see you, stoger!

Pancho, are you from the Columbus area?

The Columbus, OH show is really exciting to see. I think, but not certain, the last time Lu played Columbus was Oct, 2008 at the Pavilion.

I’m pretty certain that’s the show where girl fights were breaking out beside me, or it may be the time that girl was dance bumping me…

Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about this Columbus, OH show! (and it’s one I can make). ‘

We’ve been to the Bloomington venue before, right Lafayette? Good work.

Yes! As well as the preshow appetizers and drinks for members.

My friend received the email alert and ordered tickets, with me in mind. He’s never seen Lu before, he’s very excited.

My dance card is filling up for the summer and fall, but Ruthie is playing a Blues Festival in Cincinnati in August. I’m going to pencil her in and hope it works out.

I stumbled on this while doing research, and this performance of Fruits of My Labor by Ruthie Foster is from 2010. 😀

Apparently, she’s covered this over the years, from the dates I’ve seen submitted on YouTube. Amazing.

Please allow me to hijack further. August 3, Englert Theatre Iowa City. Backstreets, are you hip to this?

Am I hip to the hijack or to the date?

To answer the hijack query, sure, I’m hip.

To answer the date query, I may be out of town July 27 – Aug 5, still working on details.

Well, I was asking “Iowa Mike,” but good to know your schedule too Lafayette. Thanks for posting Purdue.

I missed ‘Backstreets’ in your query. 😕 😀

I am adding another show to the list…one I can make (!!!), and one a Mellencamp friend just purchased front row seats via donor presale, and he has an extra one he is going to sell me – The Buskirk Chumley Theater in Bloomington, IN on Aug 6. Wahoooo.
