…and thankfully the baton is being passed.

I’m updating setlist.fm. I hope Lu has as comprehensive a list as any artist. I’m on a mission.

Great reporting by all on this wild and crazy world tour of So Cal.

Wait…Honey Bee wasn’t originally included in the set list? 😮

Glad you checked in. I had fellow Mellencamp friends at the Portland show and in Oakland.

I’m driving by myself, staying by myself, sitting by myself – hopefully in St. Louis in the front row. I say hopefully because I have had to forego two Amos shows in the past. I’ve probably already jinxed it by mentioning I was sitting in the front row.

    So. excited.

Two days after St. Louis, I’ll be sitting in the front row – again, in Cincinnati. Hopefully.

Speechless on TWO posts regarding my main squeeze — not only in one calendar year, but weeks apart!

Unfortunately, JM will more than likely die with a cigarette in his hand. Did I ever mention I have two of his cigarette butts? One from a show at the China Club in NYC – 500 people and I was at the stage, one person right of center of his microphone. He dropped it on the stage and I retrieved it afterwards. The second one he dropped to me from the stage at a concert in Evansville, IN. 😯

    Strangest souvenirs, ever.

Ha, lwj, thanks for the correction. 😀 I’m really slipping. I was very meticulous, a long time ago, to details.

I’m always happy to pass along great music.

I loved the studio interview you posted, lwj!

Your special delivery should be arriving today, unless Winter Storm Pax caused issues with the Pony Express.

I was debating whether to divulge what could be considered a surprise but it is only fair to those who might be thinking about traveling to this show to know what the deal is. I of course wouldn’t want anyone to go to great time and expense (albeit for a good cause) so I will answer The Stoger’s questions but that comes with the disclaimer that if you don’t want to know stop reading now.

The house band will be the great Crosby Stills Nash band and Lucinda was invited to bring a guitar player. Doug will be out of town so we have invited Jonathan Wilson to come and join the festivities. We just recorded The Pretender for the Jackson Browne tribute with Jonathan and Doug at Jonathan’s studio. In addition to Jonathan, the S (if you know who I’m referring to) will be sitting in on one and probably both of the songs Lucinda is doing. The S should also be a clue to one of the songs that Lu will be doing. So there you have it.

I just heard Lucinda’s version of “The Pretender” (sort of) on WNKU. I was in another room when I realized she was on the radio. I really didn’t recognize the song until JP started talking about it after he spun the song. The song sounds so beautiful from the few lines I heard. JP said with an April release it will probably be album of the month in April and from the response he was getting (from listeners) he would have to make sure he played some more songs from the record.

More info on the tribute album:

You are too cool for words.

Actually, I may need to start watching this series. TBone Burnett as soundtrack go-to-guy and one of the stars is Matthew McConaughy? The scripts (and some scenes I watched) are intriguing.

    Yes, please.

That was taken with my 2+ year old iPhone. So convenient. I’m not sure how I ever left home without it.

I love Chris Connor. Nice guy. Helluva a lead guitarist.

Your signed CD will be headed north, hopefully tomorrow. 🙂

Let it be known I was calculating and wishing I could make a Lu/Stoll tour itinerary a reality. Unfortunately, it’s not meant to be, lwj. West coast trips are difficult for me, especially during the school year. I’m going to have to rely on YouTube and FF posts to pull me through.

Well, Well, Well, of course, I will add this monthly to my growing collection of magazines featuring JM. This one will find good company with a previous Architecture Digest highlighting his Bloomington, IN home(base)/mansion, in addition to a Country Digest featuring the log cabin he owned, which I believe, but has not been confirmed, was the impetus behind “Ghost Brothers of Darkland County.”

This particular home, in this month’s AD, will be more difficult to ‘drive by’ since I don’t own a boat. His Bloomingtoom home and nearby recording studio, a bit easier. 8)

Looking forward to your 2015 post! 🙂
