I’m glad you enjoyed. She’s been in the studio, getting ready to release her 2nd full length record, AND she has a hired hand doing the bookings (she was prior), so who knows, maybe they’ll make it across the pond someday. It’s been fun watching the momentum build with her. She is in my neck of the woods playing a show, however, I promised a friend I’d make a road trip with her to see one of her favorite performers.

So many bands, so little time.

    P.S. I miss Lu terribly.

Thanks so much for the report, lwj!

Amos has come full circle on his performances as of late. He engages with his audience and his band much more than he did several years ago,

I’m glad you enjoyed the show and hope it helped with you missing Erika and the band.

Can’t wait to hear your Amos/David review. I have tickets for Tuesday’s show in Huber Hts, OH (Dayton) and Nashville on Friday at a very cool outdoor venue. Both shows forecasted 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms.

I may try to squeeze in a HB on air performance on my way to the Nashville show at WNKU Studio 89, the band will be live at noon. They are playing Cincinnati on Thursday & Friday. I’m hoping I get my request in via member invite email on Monday morning.

I just checked bands in town. I don’t think I saw any chatter RE: two of the SAVE THE DATES on this calendar. Show(s) possibly in Chicago and/or Atlanta, late Sept ??!

One of my Mellencamp friends sent me this link. He had planned on attending this show and couldn’t make it. He’s a great amateur photographer. One of his friends, however, was at the show and posted his photos to FB. It was pretty obvious the room was a sweat box.

The two rats comment is EPIC Lu. It’s definitely one for the books. 😆 8)

A few comments on the Bluebird. I saw Lu at this venue in 2009. It was the 2nd or 3rd stop of the Honeymoon tour, Sept 23, 2009. I had always wanted to attend a show at this venue, one where John Mellencamp often dropped in early in his career. I have seen both Lu and Amos now at this venue.

Bloomington is Mellencamp’s adopted hometown. One of the best stories I know coming from his Bluebird days dates back to 1987, when Lou Reed and John Prine dropped in with John and the band, very late in the evening. They were in Bloomington, practicing for Farm Aid. Following is a recount from that evening, posted after Lou Reed’s death. Very interesting read.

I didn’t mean to hijack the thread, however, thought it was fitting with Lucinda and her admiration for Lou.

WOW, 2 Lu gigs in 2 months possibly for me.-July 4th in Orillia, ON and now this one.
Maybe I could be called a Junior FF road warrior. 😆

Looks like her schedule is fast becoming a Festival tour for 2015. Hope her set list isn’t shortened too much.

Good for you, lwj. A Canuck road warrior.

Good for Toronto, sad for Farm Aid. I always hold out hope Lu will play Farm Aid. This year it is Sept 19.
