Thanks, Steve. It’s been an interesting journey making the transition from inquisitive spectator to a fan in the making. However, I have a long way to go to become an uber fan such as yourself and many others in this forum.

It was snowing 11:30 a.m. downtown Atlanta when I pulled out. Husband suggested I get out of there ASAP, Atlanta is not use to dealing with snow. Today I saw a report there were all kinds of accidents in downtown Atlanta due to sloppy conditions but I had no problems. I did witness an interstate size Burger King sign blow down as I was fueling up in Tennessee. That was a little frightening, heard it ripping, saw it hanging and swaying, and then the wind blew it down in front of the restaurant. SWOOSH.

I missed the couple grooving to Lu, too. I only remember the buxom blonde.

I also was thinking about the snow followng Lu up the East Coast. Looks like Birmingham got hammered. She got out of both cities just in time.

I’m home, safe and sound, from an incredible Atlanta show shared with some incredible Lu fans. I was taken under their wings and extremely grateful.

I left Ohio yesterday a little later than I had planned. I was playing a game I refer to as “beat the clock” on my drive down. That clock would be the ETA on my GPS I am so codependent on. My original plans were to pull into Atlanta between 5:00 and 6:00 but I didn’t make it until 7:00 p.m. I was quite surprised when I walked into the venue at that time to find the floor relatively empty (it filled in very quickly it seemed right before Buick 6 came out). I started chatting with a woman that traveled alone from Florida (she also was in Birmingham the night before). We were off to the side somewhat when stoger recognized me from a photo on myspace. I sashayed over to where he and Tom and Sarah were standing and thus began my whirlwind Lu adventure. I love road trips!

Stoger, Tom, and Randy (hi Randy, good to see you on here!) have covered Lu’s set list much better than I ever could, however, let me say I was very happy to hear Pineola, Righteously, Joy, I Just Wanted To See You So Bad. 26 songs. That blows me away. I phoned a friend during “Joy”,( gave him a concert call), one who is a self confessed metal head. He told me later it was absolutely rocking and wanted to know the name of the song. The show was flawless and even if it wasn’t it would still get high marks from me. My husband asked me if the show was worth the 16 hours of driving in 2 days, and I replied “Absolutely!” I’m hooked.

As I said, I was in great company. Lu has some great fans and I really do appreciate the company and listening to Lu history (songs, setlists, etc).

I was thrilled to get the drumstick AND a setlist (thanks for the help stoger!), tape and all. I hung it up on the wall in the restaurant so nothing would get spilled on it. OH, as it turns out, the hotel front desk where I was staying had alchoholic beverages available for sale. We could have had a brewsky at the hotel!

Yeah, stoger, Mellencamp does RULE! If it hadn’t been for him, I more than likely would have never been introduced to Lucinda William. What a void that would have been.

Thanks, Lu, for a wonderful show! Thanks stoger, Tom, Randy, Sarah, and Randy’s wife (I forgot your name already!) for an unforgettable show experience.

BTW, I found the receipt for my ticket for the show. The fees were $13.50 thru livenation. Here’s a copy:

Surmise to say the free alcohol flowing could have been a contributing factor, Roger?

I’m so ready for Atlanta, especially since it’s the only show I’m attending on this leg of tour.

I have found GA shows, no matter the artist, almost ALWAYS requires more patience than usual. Thanks for the reminder to keep it in check on Saturday.

HA Stevarino…head south on I-75. You’ll be there in 7 hours or so. However, you can hold the Hudy (ack!) 😀

Aaaaaahhhh…I’m really looking forward to this show, too! 7 hours 36 minute drive. I haven’t driven this far for a show for any other artist other than JM. The previous record was 6 hours to Chicago and 5 1/2 hours to Nashville, both indie artists.

    I”m stoked!

I found tickets for Atlanta! Odd, none available at ticketmaster, however, I found some on the Live Nation site.

I assume it is sold out (however you know what sometimes happen when one assumes). Ticketmaster is telling me no tickets available. YES. Very good news for Lu!

I have started looking at the usual aftermarket outlets, but holding out some tickets will be released.

I waited too long to purchase tickets for Atlanta. I’m interested in GA if anyone has extra ones for sale.

Oops…I misunderstood as well. Would have to be Tupelo Honey or Stoll Vaughan. Now, for me to be granted that wish, Lu needs to play Cincinnati.

JJ Grey & Mofro, David Jacobs-Strain, Mike Younger, or Stoll Vaughan would be my choices. Solid performers perfectly suited for Lu as an opening act.

I, too, appreciate the information posted on Lu’s shows. Really does help with deciding on waiting for a show to possibly book near me or taking the plunge and going on a road trip. I’m truly thinking a road trip is in order and Atlanta is calling my name.
