Lefty, any rumblings in the Dylan camp about tour announcement? We were given a tease tonight in JM’s forums by the fan club manager, using a storm analogy. According to the tease, announcement could be as soon as Friday thru Monday, with the storm starting on the east coast and heading to the west coast.

Great setlist! Phenomenal he can still deliver an energetic 2 hour 45 minute set.

This link was posted on my facebook page, video of “The Ghost of Tom Joad” from last night’s show. Enjoy.

Thanks for the response, Tom. I did some more digging. Here is what I found.

I have found several mentions of Lucinda being quoted in WN press releases and such. Looks as though he opened for Lu at some point…And, for what it’s worth, WN has Lu in his top friends on myspace.

    http://willienile.com/bio.php

No less a personage than Lucinda Williams has said of him, “Willie Nile is a great artist. If there was any justice in this world, I’d be opening up for him instead of him for me.”

    http://www.conqueroo.com/willienilepr.html

It’s meant building, song by song, an integrity and artistry that attracts a zealous fan base and leads musical peers like Lucinda Williams to call Nile “a great artist”

AND, she appeared with Willie in 2007

A couple of nights earlier, Lucinda performed a duet with Willie Nile on the Ramones’ “I Wanna be Sedated.” I wasn’t there, but the clip is available on Youtube.

I suppose I just answered my own question? 😆

    The power of cyberspace.

It’s only one ticket (or maybe two), however, I do feel great about turning a fan onto Lu’s show in Phoenix. I was over on Lu’s facebook page and noticed someone posted he wished she would come to Phoenix. That show had already been announced on the website, so I shot this person a message and told him LU was doing a show in Phoenix, gave him the 411 on the venue, even the link for him to order tickets. He just posted tonight on my page thanking me as he scored 12th row center seats and is thrilled!

    Life is good.

Don’t look now all you roadtrippers, but another show has been added at High Road Touring, sandwiched in between the Columbia, MO & OKC dates:

Wednesday June 17, 8:00 PM, Kansas City, MO, Harrah’s Kansas City

Does this mean you will be extending your “School’s Out” vacation tour???

Thanks for posting set list. Long encore, 27 songs. Lu’s on fire, so it seems.

Is it possible to make this thread a sticky?

Sounds like you need to take the wife out to dinner and break it over a nice meal, nice bottle of wine, flowers, a box of Godiva chocolates. That’s what I would do if I were you… 😆

Wonderful blog, Tom. Love the insight and love learning about Lu, what makes her tick, how it transforms into her music and her performances. I hope you can continue. For me, it helps make the connection all the more. Beautiful.

WOW! It sure seems so. He has tour dates through the Covington, KY (Cincy) show listed.

I’m glad I didn’t bet the house on watching these tour dates unfold. 🙂

Indianapolis is a 2 hour drive from my house! Stevarino, are you going on a LU mini tour?

I was volunteering for WNKU last night, working a table to support the station, a Chris Smither show at a small singer songwriter type venue. I was telling a few patrons about Lu’s show at The Madison and tickets were going on sale this morning. One guy, from Lexington, KY, wrote down the information, thanking me for telling him. He told me he would see me at the show!

I’m stoked about all the midwest shows!

With the addition of the MO show on June 15, I think Chicago, if it happens, will be squeezed in between WI and KY.

Can’t wait to see what’s added next.

Lucinda is killing me. Under normal circumstances, I would be heading to that Louisville show as it’s about a two hour drive. HOWEVER, I have plans to head to Chicago June 12 – 14 for the Bluesfest! Sooooo, if those Chicago shows are added on the other side of the Bluesfest weekend, my brother would just have to understand a few more days camped out at his place!
