I would be the one in the middle in the front, standing next to the only other female in the photo. She is identified in the previous photo ;-).

Heartfelt report, Stu. You may have told me the night of the reception and maybe it just went over my head, or I just plain don’t remember , but I do love your relay of “I Just Wanted To See You So Bad” and what that song means to you and your bride to be.

Some mother-adopted son advice. The picture of you and Lu, and this is just a thought, if you have time before going to the show, print it out or send it to walgreens.com for a quick print, whatever is convenient and works for you, and HAVE LU SIGN IT.

Enjoy the show tonight, looking forward to a report.

    You’re welcome, Lisa!

WNKU offers such a variety of ALL types of roots music and is extremely supportive of local musicians. I absolutely love their programming as well as their website features (podcasts and dedicated YouTube page.) They are having their semi annual pledge drive in October. I typically volunteer to answer phones during pledge drives. If you decide to pledge, any $$$ amount is appreciated, and know they truly support Lu as well. Do a search using her name (as described below) and watch it populate…

I am excited that John Patrick will be doing the On Air interview on Friday (provided he is working that day.) He’s one of my favorites.

On the website, I’m not sure if you saw the music link, but if you click that link, then click “music playlists” you can search by artist, record, etc. or just click “search playlists” at the bottom to see the entire programming format for each music host.

Sorry Lefty- Again you are “left” out. You wrote on July 31st below:

“When you see Erika, CB, wouldja tell ‘er please to bring it to Syracuse? She’s overdue!”
Now the HB’s fall tour is listed on their web site.

The closest to up-state NY is Toronto on Nov. 11/09 again at the Kool Haus where I saw them on August 3rd. I’ve already got my tickets.
It’s not that far from Syracuse for you.

Erika did tell us at the reception they were opening for Wolfmother. Enjoy, Lisa.

TNT, the tour has them playing the Tabernacle in Atlanta on Nov. 2 😉

I’m not so sure Erika will remember our conversation at the reception , however, I will plead your case, Lefty, for her to not forget your fair city in upcoming tours.

I asked her if she was going to do a WNKU On-Air to support her MPMF gig on Friday, and she thought it was scheduled for 1:00 p.m EST. I just checked the website and unfortunately they have been slipping on posting upcoming On Airs, nothing is mentioned. I wil try to confirm this week with the music host for that time slot. The station streams live if you have the opportunity to listen in real time. If not, they typically podcast their interviews.

Stevarino, Erika said it was an outdoor stage she was playing. The schedule has her in headlining spot for that “venue” playing 9:30 at Grammer’s Topic Design Tent. Hope to see you there!

Those are both wonderful photos, Tom! Looking forward to all of them.

I would like to add some additional color commentary in regards to the show, however, first I would like to say it was such a joy and privilege to be able to attend the wedding and I, too, would like to thank Lucinda and Tom for inviting their fans to share in their day.

Next, it was great to meet Bigsubi and his wife, all the way from Barcelona (and Lu acknowledged them at the reception when she spoke), Sandy and Caroline (with an “i” 🙂 ), DiscoStu (I was referring to him as “my son” during the reception), Webmasta, and of course, dear friends Tom and Roger. Shows wouldn’t be the same without sharing them with fellow admirers and cheerleaders.

Lu and the band kicked total *ss before they exchanged vows, and that is not an exaggeration.Lu relayed to the audience, toward the end of the set, Eric had just told her “This is f*cking fun!”

Tom sang a few lines with Lu during “Happy” and he strapped on a guitar and played during “It’s A Long Way To The Top.” Not bad for a guy who doesn’t like the stage and spotlight.

The article mentioned Lu almost broke down during the Hank Williams song she performed, however, after she sang the most beautiful renditon of “Plan To Marry” she told us it was real hard for her to get through that song.

The reception had us snatching tall glass pillar candles with a really cool Lu and Tom wedding graphic. The candle, packed in my carry on suitcase, had airport security checking my bag, focusing on the candle as their source of concern. I was pushing getting to the gate as it were, as a matter of fact, I was running to catch my plane, however, I made it, candle and all!

Lefty. notice are “gal” Erika was there.

I’m past exhaustion, however, I will share this…

Tom, Roger, and I were milling at the reception when we saw Erika headed our way. We stopped her to let her know some of Lu’s biggest fans are hers as well.

At one point in the conversation, I told her I knew she was playing Midpoint Music Festival, and when I told her I was from Cincinnati, well, I totally blew her out of the water. She gave me a big hug. She does love home.

Note to Lefty, if you get a chance to talk to her, put your fingers behind your back, cross them, and tell her you’re from Cincy. You’re in, baby!

    Do you accept Twitter, Lefty?

    😆 😆 😆

I will be tweeting, as in, real time, from the show (actually the entire day, ham sandwiches abound.) I’ll throw a (mastodon) bone or two about setlist, however, with Roger in the house, I’ll leave setlist reporting to him.

This could be perfect time to come out of the cave. 😯

I will be in Minneapolis and for those of you not able to attend the wedding and are clamoring for details, I will be tweeting the night away. I’m not sure how much I will be tweeting (obviously won’t be on the phone with stylus in hand distracting Lu) but I will try to tweet as the night progresses. Also, will not guarantee no “ham sandwich” comments. Knowing me, there will be those types of comments.

Here is my twitter url. I really don’t know how to post pics, however, that is next on my list to learn. I just prevailed with my recent new birthday present (iphone knockoff) and sent a tweet from my phone. My previous dinosaur of a phone didn’t have the technology to accomodate.

Could be a good time to come out of the cave and play!

Yeah, I’ve been Googling on “Lucinda Williams Wedding Minneapolis” a couple of times a day since the first article appeared the morning of the 8th in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. It has been fun watching the news spread across the Web. It has even been picked up by Business Week as news related to Best Buy (BBY) stock, more than likely due to the mention of Tom’s having worked for the company in the article! 😆

    Tom

I forwarded info to my favorite afternoon music host at WNKU…to give him some talking points if and when he spins Lu.
