OK, here’s a hint (before we run down the list of every Chevy model known to man! 😆 ). There is a hint, of sorts, in one of Lu’s songs…

    Tom

    A yellow El Camino 😀

I know, I know, it’s a black truck but that’s as far as I get.

lwj…you are a trip! 😆 I pride myself on being a Sherlock Holmes google type, however, I dont’ come close to your skills (and tnt’s)

Hope you guys tune in to the game. Last year we went to the Orange Bowl (first major bowl bid for UC since 1951) and we had great seats in the end zone (my husband has been a longtime alumni with a sweet priority seating,) right next to the UC band. For the Sugar Bowl,17,500 seats allotted for UC sold out at 9:00 a.m. yesterday morning (day of sale but also included days prior selling to alumni). They are working on securing more.

There are at least 25 – 30 people going from the group we tailgate with during the regular season (if only I could get these folks to concerts, too ! 😯 ) and the one couple that shares tickets and seats with us is renting a mansion with 7 bedrooms in the Garden District, which breaks down for the folks staying there to be about the same amount we are spending to stay in the Quarter. Sounds like we may start tailgating at the mansion before heading over to the game. Fun times!

Here is another Joe’s Bar I found googling only Joe’s Bar, New Orleans, LA. It is on Cleveland Ave, though…

    Name: Joe’s Bar
    Address: 1500 Cleveland Ave
    City, State: New Orleans, LA
    Zip: 70112

I have St. Joe’s Bar noted! We’re staying on Magazine Street, only the other end. Thanks for helping with the misssion, tnt and lwj !

Sidenote: UC’s football coach, Brian Kelly, just accepted coaching position at Notre Dame. He won’t be coaching the Sugar Bowl game. Sort of a bummer, but we figured it was going to happen.

Are you saying Lu changes her mind a lot, i.e. ring ??? 😆

I would LOVE a list if Lu could put one together, that would be fantastic! The folk shop sounds intriguing as well! I find it fascinating to follow in the footsteps of artists I admire most (okay, I should say artist as Mr. Mellencamp is the only other artist’s footsteps I have followed, in his home town…it’s a Mellenhead kind of thing to visit the places he grew up and where he hung). I’m looking forward to traipsing around the Quarter, drinking a hurricane or two, and ghost “stalking” Lu at the places she haunted.

My family visited New Orleans for a few days on a family vacation, on our way to Destin, FL, pre-Katrina. We really had a great time with my fondest memory of that trip watching my youngest son, 4 at the time, wiggling his rear as he danced to some Cajun music in a souvenir shop with some Mardi Gras rubber duck beads I had just bought him. This trip was before I discovered independent music and the heart, soul, and spirit of that music, so I’m going with a renewed interest and eyes wide open. This is my first trip back, post Katrina.

Thanks TO, as I have said before, you’re the best!

I’m always late to the party.

Congratulations, Lu, on your nomination! You are in great company and I’m very excited to see “Little Honey” get the nod. TO and Buick 6, you must be very proud as well!

I’m looking forward to seeing HB. Very cool they are making a return (was here in March for CD release show) but no surprise, I suppose, with them calling Cincinnati home

Lafayette, have you got your tickets yet for Dec. 26th? It would be a long drive for me to the Newport venue but am considering it.

Here is a new interview with Erika from MF Magazine.

No, I haven’t but have cleared it with my better half. We are definitely going, better get tickets now. I’m almost certain this will sell out. Cincinnati (Newport) is great place to see this band as they consider Cincy home. Let me know if you plan on coming and we can meet up beforehand.

Aha…yes, you did predict the Bengals win lwj! I actually didn’t think they could pull it off with Pittsburgh so hot as of late and the game was in their house.

So this Sunday’s game with the Brown’s should be a pushover Lafayette.

    lwj

lwj, the game wasn’t quite the pushover as expected, however, it was a WIN and 6 – 0 in division play, first in Bengals franchise history! Bengals need to get their act together offensively, however, or we will never get past first playoff game if we make it that far. I’ll use a Mellencamp line to summarize the game…”I Ain’t Never Satisfied”

AND, to keep this thread on track, Susan Tedeschi was great. She even strapped on a guitar and played with the house band at the end of the evening band while all the artists were walking off.

Interesting -I’ve been going thru her “archives” and have found some interesting things but I haven’t come across one of these, so I don’t think Lucinda even has this.

Interesting things to start filling that boxed set ?? 🙂

Shazaam! I had someone contact me via my YouTube account asking if I had any additonal footage of the Joplin tribute, they had apparently searched and found my Lu uploads. I just checked the view count, and for Port Arthur (the former Difficult Child) the view count is over 1,800 in less than 2 days. “Ball and Chain” view count is holding around 93 views.
