Mellencamp’s rider is dated 1998, listed at bottom of contract. Not sure on that chocolate milk thing. Interesting, indeed.

Very cool, indeed, on the purchase. Does the artist realize Lu and the newlywed husband purchased this piece?

Thanks, tonyg for the heads up on part 2. A soundbyte of Lu, Patty, and EmmyLou would have been even better!

Thanks for the link, I absolutely loved your thoughts on Pineola.

One thing you might consider with your blog, to maximize exposure, is to tick a category box along with tags. I noticed you have the blog filed under “uncategorzied”. The potential to reach additional readers will increase by tagging.

I look forward to your next blog!

Also, I’ll post a blog link on twitter and some additional social sites.

From the MusiCares concert, with snippets of performances from the evening as well as comments from Neil. Unfortunately, nothing involving Lu.

Today I was listening to my favorite NPR station and my favorite afternoon music host. He played “Unsuffer Me” announcing beforehand the song was from the #5 on the Top 89 records of 2007 voted by fans of WNKU.

I waited for the song to end, and then gave my buddy, the music host, a call. I thanked him for playing Lu and told him the news Tom had relayed here. He was excited and said “Cool, I’ll mentione that on the air.” Sure enough, he came back on the air and told everyone new music from Lu likely at the end of the year, told to him by a very reliable source. 😯

I just purchased tix to see Amos Lee at Mercy Lounge in Nashville, TN, standing room capacity 500. A link was provided on his website to purchase tickets thru AEG Live / The Messina Group. Ticket price was $22 with an additional $4.75 fee, a little over 20% of ticket price. Added ticket fees suck, for the artist and the fan.

Following is link with information on the venues they book, for what it’s worth, in case you are unfamiliar with this group.

Thanks for always thinking about the fans! I certainly appreciate it, knowing you and Lu are trying to contain costs.

I LOVE these YouTube finds! I’m really digging John’s guitarwork. Gives depth to Lu’s performance.

An On Air interview featuring Justin. He plays 2 songs, one at the beginning of the segment and one at the end.

I’ll let you know if I see it on his schedule. I may have to drive down for that one, too!

Stoll is really quite rounded , I think, for being so young, as far as his influences go. He cites Townes VZ, Bill Monroe, John Prine and even Elvis and is a big big fan of James McMurtry.

Stoll has a great story about another influence. In an On Air interview, Stoll talks about walking into Douglas Corner in Nashville to see Ramblin Jack play and there is only about 7 people in the room. He said he spots Ramblin sitting at the bar drinking. He walks over and proceeds to talk to him for about 15 minutes. He said he turned around to see Guy Clark and John Prine standing there, laughs saying he knew then and there his conversation with Ramblin’ was over. He goes on to say about 15 people showed up to hear Ramblin and 2 of those 15 people were legends themselves. He claims to this day Douglas Corner is one of his favorite places for that reason alone.

Yes, Tom, I noticed the chatter while I was taping and watching as well. It is annoying and I was sort of surprised to hear all the noise. Stoll’s hometown is Lexington, where the show was held, and I thought everyone would be more attentive. However, it was a billiards place in front, big ass room with a stage in the back.

Stoll has played Eddie’s Attic in the past. Isn’t Eddie’s considered a “listening room?”

I took a little road trip to hear Stoll on Saturday and he stopped by before his set and asked my friend and I some songs we would like to hear him play. I told him I loved “War On Love.” I started videotaping just as Stoll gave me a shout out before playing this song. He was playing solo acoustic as opening act for “The Band Of Heathens.”

He also covered “Two Hands” by Townes VZ
