Your wish was just granted if you can settle for her as opening act. She is opening a few select dates for Amos Lee and Minneapolis is one of those shows.
They are playing at Varsity Theater.

I am SO excited. I LOVE Amos Lee. He is in my top 5 artists along with JM and LU. I’m headed to Nashville next week to see him. After I purchased those tickets, a Louisville show was added. Uh huh, I bought tickets for that show. NOW, Cincinnati has been added AND for that show TIFT MERRITT is opening!
I’m binging on Amos while patiently waiting on Lu and JM.
Anne has autographed CD’s available as part of a presale.

My favorite afternoon music host just played a Pieta song and announced she may be stopping in the area for a show AND stopping by studio in next few months.

Yes, it’s American Idol where a recording contract is awarded to the winner. Contestants found through auditions across the country compete singing and viewers call in to vote for their favorite of the evening. It’s similar to singing karoake on steroids, to me, anyway. I watch it every now and then.

I just did a quick Lucinda Williams search on twitter and noticed there is an “official” Janis Joplin page. They are tweeting the song Lu wrote and performed at the tribute show providing a link to the video.
