It was a 4th row recording, however, I’m being told it is buffering way too much. My friend wants me to take it down and put it back up again. Both of my uploads are buffering, I’m not sure why.

Well, last night one of my friends attended Rockfest in WI. Today, I noticed I had a missed call at 1:43 a.m EST from my friend. I was sleeping. I figured she was calling me to give me a concert update as I was the one that talked her into going, it was very near her home and she doesn’t get to see JM all that much.

Today, she told me, nope it wasn’t an update, John was doing his cell phone schtick during Jack and Diane, where he asks a fan to phone a friend and he talks to them. She phoned me! I was in bed. DANG. As it turned out, the phone call dropped anyway, so its not even on voice mail.

Here is the photo of JM on the phone with “me.” (My friend befriended the concert photographer, 8) )

Okay, I started looking at this player on the hyperlink and discovered if you open the link all the songs are uploaded. You can listen to “Atonement” in its’ entirety. Lu has posted to her facebook page she loves Lucky’s interpretation!

Click on the drop down menu with the scrolling song title to open additional songs.

Click on “more” to find “Atonement.”

Apparently, ghostly apparitions are of no concern. You are a braveheart. I have never spent a night in a purported haunted place.

lwj joined my husband and myself for a JM show in Windsor ON at Caesar’s Casino. We ran into half the band at the bar after the show, so lwj had an impromptu band M & G.

Power in numbers. I know it’s a needle in a haystack kinda thing, but I refuse to purchase concert tickets that are overpriced. For instance, I wanted to go to a show at Riverbend as DH and I like the atmosphere. A quick look at shows I thought we would like had me dismissing Tom Petty as prime seats were a few hundred $$$ as well as some other shows, same story. I ended up settling to see John Mayer, around $75, solely for the reason the tix were inexpensive (compared to the others) and some good seats became available. The bonus in that choice is Train is opening up for Mayer, and much, much, much to my surprise, the guy playing bass is someone I know from the San Diego area that played in an independent band I support(ed).

My final hope is that Live Nation (and whoever determines ticket prices) starts getting the message. The fans are tired of being ******* on.

EXCELLENT! There were 2 pan shots of Dave, and Butch was sporting his cowboy hat, sounding awesome as usual. Looks like he had a car spring as part of his drum kit. Is that new or have I just not noticed?

Great song! I tuned in at just the right time.

    And, may I add…

QUOTE: “A lot of my early stuff I feel like I’ve outgrown. It’s not as developed as my later stuff, not as sophisticated.

One time I was in a bar in Devil’s Corner in Nashville, and Nanci Griffith was in there. She said: “I just love that song ‘Full Moon.’ That’s my favorite song by you.” I said, “You’ve got to be kidding.” I didn’t take stuff like that seriously until Laura Cantrell did “Letters,” and I went, “Holy shit, maybe I should take a closer look at these.” END QUOTE

…had John Mellencamp never covered “Lafayette” I seriously doubt I would have ever found Lucinda.

i think this indicates that lucinda may have just covered the song on that show (kut-fm, austin, 86), just as she did on this early 90s baltimore gig that the article i previously posted indicates.

i mean, we would have to listen to it and compare with the lyrics to be 100% sure, but to my mind it’s quite clear that the song was written by tom t. hall and covered by lucinda, buddy miller, deryl dodd et al.

perhaps that’s the reason why this song is not on tom’s list.

I do believe you are correct. It was very late last night / early this morning while I was searching. I was only finding the song, the youtubes and such, with credits dated from the 90’s. I thought it might be a Lucinda song from the blog you posted AND the KUT On Air which was in 1984. HOWEVER, I finally found this greatest hits record of Tom T. Hall dated 1972 with “That’s How I Got To Memphis.”

Apologies to Tom T. Hall for calling him a thief. 😳 😆
