I won’t touch a thing. I thought it was, in the words of Lu, a very “sweet” mention of her.

Enjoy, lwj. I would love to catch a WN show, he primarily tends to play around the Northeast area. I would suggest you look for Andy York (Mellencamp, Ian Hunter) on stage with Willie, but he could very well still be hanging out west with Mellencamp & gang for the next Dylan show.

I always love your perspective, TO, shoot straight from the hip. International incident . Perhaps I should remove that link from Lu’s FB pages, especially if it’s nothing but a fluff piece. I would hope Jimmy meant well, somehow the message got inflated.

Nashville, too, don’t forget Nashville, lwj! Actually, they are ALL within my parameter except Minneapolis. The ticket prices, well, let’s just say a lot of folks are dismayed, between that and opening up presale to general public.

Yes, new website just launched, CCB is phasing out with an open community board and open pre-sales. Interesting you were given a store voucher. Fanfire, JM’s outsourced merch, has had incompetency issues in past dealings.

As far as Jon E. Gee, he is still in the band! His given name is Jon Gunnell (many times management, or whoever is in charge), spells it as “John.”

The ticket prices, for now, are limiting me to Bloomington (I always love doing opener), Cincinnati (a given!) and one of the Indy shows providing I can pull up decent tickets. Are you planning on going to Detroit? PM me if so.

OH, very cool! I will have to order, also. It was released on Fat Possum, the label the Heartless Bastards are/were signed.

American Songwriter released press announcing John Mellencamp will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement award from the Americana Music Association on Sept 9. Greg Leisz will be on stage to receive one as well.

The show has a who’s who of Americana artists performing that evening with the exception of one… Lucinda is not on the list of performers!

i bet “change the locks” is the link. the lyrics for “i can see for miles” are similar in spirit.

I found a clue on Lu’s FB page, punch, in regards to the link for Lu breaking into a (“Who”) song during her interview. I had missed her reply and went in search of after TO posted Lu had written some “Blessed” lyrics.

“We were blessed by the homeless man who showed us the way home.” “We were blessed by the blind man who could “We were blessed by the homeless man who showed us the way home.” “We were blessed by the blind man who could see for miles and miles.

tnt…You are truly “blessed” (rhymes with “West” 😀 ) having such a cool music venue, a great listening room AKA Eddie’s Attic, as you have often said, so very near your home. I never realized the quality of that room until I started listening to Stoll’s performance while uploading on YouTube.

This is the first time I’ve seen him play a ukulele. Very cool for me. A new song to boot.

As I recall, Lu posted on her FB offering “Companion” as a download with proceeds going to the fallen police officer’s family. I was under the impression it would be offered only in that format, but I may have misunderstood.

I remember hearing before about #2 & #3 somewhere, but can only find “after the fact” references here in the forum – does anyone remember the source for these? I want to remember that one of them was a tribute to Frank Callari. However, when stoger was visiting me week before last, I couldn’t find the original source for these two. Facebook, perhaps?

Excellent “track listing” tnt. I have fingers crossed “Port Arthur” makes the cut.

The source you are looking for is an article posted here in the forum (I think I posted it). Here is the link and the info you are searching.

Since wrapping up her contribution to the soundtrack, Williams is hard at work writing and recording her next album, which is slated for fall release. She says the as-yet-untitled disc will include tracks like “Copenhagen” (about her late-manager Frank Callari’s heart attack) and “Seeing Black,” a tribute to the late singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt

Farm Aid webcast, even with the glitches, was fun to watch.

As I recall, lwj, Farm Aid concert webcast typically tunes in around 5:00 p.m. EST Past years have had Dave Matthews hit the stage around 7:00 or so with JM following in the 8:00 hour, Neil on around 9ish and Willie bringing up the finale around 10:00 or so. Their sets run around 45 minutes.

John is charting #4 on AMA charts, not sure about any others.

Well Lucinda officially let the cat out of the bag a few minutes ago on Facebook -the title of the new record will be called Blessed–which is one of the new songs. Still figuring out the release date.

Superlative! I’m looking forward to the words and music, the liner notes, and yeah, like ParkerCA, the artwork, too! Thanks for keeping the friendly forum posted, TO.

For any curdmudgeons still on the fence about expanding their cyberspace world ~ I was all a twitter when Lu opened a twitter account last year, however, she has really wrapped her head, so it seems, around facebook. I recommend, if you don’t have a facebook account, or if you’re not following her if you have a facebook account, to open a facebook account and follow Lu! There’s something about what happens when Lu actually posts on facebook. Very cool.
