Why, yes, yes, the joy did continue. AMAZING. I’m waiting for my partner in crime to report, she took notes…

HA! I cannot offer any offtopic recap. I didn’t make tailgate festivities OR the game. As it turns out, my son had a soccer game, as well as team pictures beforehand (which I did not make either but I was lone cheerleader his last two games as DH was traveling) all at the time the UC game started. We gave our tickets to my sister-in-law and 12 year old nephew, so we were well represented. My husband did relay to me, though, he was keeping track on his blackberry, the game started off very slow with UC kicking it up a notch the second half for the win.

The next home game is actually at Paul Brown Stadium on a Thursday, playing Oklahoma. That is a big buzz game. The tailgating festivities will be limited there. The games played at UC’s Nippert Stadium has us doing the tailgating thing in a dedicated space in the alumni section. We usually just show up with a covered dish (but help with tear down), all the initial work is done by other passionate UC coworkers. I’ll have to take pictures of our space, complete with huge inflatable UC bearcat mascot.

Thanks so much for posting this! There are more guest appearances on this record than all of his past three! Pieta Brown, too!

Something tells me I need to stick around for Willie’s set at Farm Aid. OR, maybe Willie will come out during Amos’s…

Sandy and I toured the Country Music Hall of Fame, somewhat abbreviated, on Friday. Highly recommend. I could have spent a few more hours. There is a wonderful Hank Williams & Hank Jr. display.

I knew there was a Farm Aid display of photos celebrating 25 years. We checked that out as well. A large photo of Lu was included along with a “what Farm Aid means to me” quote from her. I took photos and will post within the next few days. We then stopped in at the gift shop and I spotted a “Little Honey” vinyl LP for sale on a rack of LP’s. I moved one of Steve Earle’s next to “Little Honey.” It only seemed right. 😛

I’ve just returned from the OTR show at Moonlight Gardens. Gorgeous evening, tables full, packed “house.”

“Undamned” was performed early in the set, with Karin mentioning Lucinda Williams as a guest on the song. I was going to tape this song as well, however, signs posted specifically requesting no audio or video taping nixed that thought.

It was a wonderful evening, and Cincinnati truly loves OTR as evidenced by the crowd tonight.

More Lu awaits us with OTR’s release of their record on Jan 11, 2011.

Awesome and awesome. One, you’re posting to Lu’s website from the bar/venue? I’m 😮 and impressed :D. Two, I meant to post the other day I listened to some of the album from the link you provided. I must put this on my list of CD’s to acquire.

Apologies for not being as punctial on friendly forum reporting from abroad as my contemporaries. This particular business center at my hotel has been busy.

Lucinda’s remarks were prepared, short and to the point. I should have been taking better notes. As I recall, after being introduced by Jim Lauderdale as a friend and an artist the AMA’s have tried for a long time to lure to the conference, Lucinda spoke about the state of the music industry after a conversation the night before with another artist(?) or friend(s). She performed “Born To Be Loved” with the house band, her voice strong and amazing. I was trying to hang onto every word she sang, listening to the lyrics since it was a first time listen for me. I can’t tell you if the arrangement the house band played was similar to the recent shows/upcoming record, but what I did hear, I loved. Very rootsy.

I was sitting in the balcony, and I think the lyrics stand was nearby, but from what I saw she did not use it, and if she did, it was very limited. She was warmly received after her performance. I even stood up and applauded, a lone soul in my area of seating.

Sandy ran into Tom and Lu downstairs in the lobby, inbetween the end of the show and Robert Plant’s surprise performance with the Love Band. She came and retrieved me from the balcony area where I (Sandy and 7 other helpers) were handing out Mellencamp’s new CD, compliments of Rounder Records. A call for help went out on Mellencamp’s boards on Tuesday evening. It was a no brainer for me since I was already attending. Anyway, back to TO, I went to lobby area, briefly spoke with him. Lucinda was very engaged with several contemporaries, busy as a butterfly, not to be confused with buttercup. TO did relay that Lucinda was standing side stage during the show and Robert Plant introduced himself to LU! That had to be a cool moment, no?

Anne McCue approached Tom, asked him if they were going to any showcases. She said her drummer was sitting in with Wanda Jackson. Sandy and I excused ourselves about this time.

Tonight finds us with confirmed plans of attending showcases at Mercy Lounge catching JIm Lauderdale & Shelby Lynee. Plans to stop in at Hard Rock for Happy Hour as well.

Boy another banner year for Lucinda that this is playing out to be.
New album, mini tour, Americana Music Awards, duo with Elvis, appearing on Over the Rhine, appearing on Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Lucky Peterson, Blue Bird on the Squidbillies 😆 and the list just goes on and on.

Thanks, lwj. I will, indeed, try to sneak my camera to take video. There is a no camera policy and as long as I’m not searched, I’ll see what I can film.

Interview with JM about receiving upcoming lifetime achievement award. A short reference about artists, like Lucinda, from the writer, regarding John, more or less giving them a vehicle for their music, but I’m sure that would be highly disputed by many here. 😆

Brandi Carlile & Amos Lee duet on “Blue Eyes Cryin’ In The Rain.” AMAZING.

My pipe dream is one day I will see Amos & Lu duet together, live, in living color.
