That is a wonderful photo…and in living color. I can’t wait to read/hear the liner notes/interviews associated with making “Blessed.”
LafayetteParticipantI’m grateful for Lu buds. I was ‘away from my desk’ and unable to purchase presale tickets. Bloomington & Nelsonville…here I come!
LafayetteParticipantIt had been quite some time since I visited this site. The picture size shown, for nonmembers, is much larger than they allowed in the past. It’s a great collection of photos of Lu from over the years.
LafayetteParticipantExcellent report(s)!
The music I was listening to last night was so very different than your listening experience.
We had one of those hotel package deals with a live band. First song of the night? Car Wash.

OMG Lafayette, were you aware of this for John and Elaine ?

It’s sad to know it’s been confirmed but many of us suspected as such. Elaine notably had been missing from the Farm Aid show and the first leg of the tour. I saw her in Bloomington at the second show. She was ALWAYS with John at his public appearances & tours. I think she only missed a handful of appearances before the split due to her commitments.
It’s sad they are splitting after such a long time together. John, over the past 20 years, IMO, has been a better person because of Elaine. Ironically, this past tour he seems to have been in great spirits. You just never know.
LafayetteParticipantMerry Christmas & Happy New Year to Lu & Tom & all on the friendly forum. I am thankful for friends I have met and hope to meet new faces in 2011 & connect with familiar (vs. old) faces as well! 2011 is going to be a grand year!
LafayetteParticipantTwo thumbs up. Thanks for sharing.
LafayetteParticipantTom, Atlanta should be good one. I’ve spoke with several fans that have relayed Amos has consistent good shows there, particularly at that venue. He feeds off the crowd & the vibe in the room. He loves Atlanta.
LafayetteParticipantYIPEEE!!!!!
Buskirk Chumley in Bloomington & Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville! I’ve been to both theaters, very quaint. I saw JM tape a Live By Request A & E show in Bloomington & saw Stoll with Marty Stuart in Nelsonville. It will be a rocking week for me as I will be returning from a JM show in Philly earlier in the week. I’m so glad these shows are working with my schedule. NOW, need to squeeze a full band show in…
LafayetteParticipantI just shared this on FB. “West” was my real first foray into Lu’s catalog and one I connected to on many levels.

Judging from the tour schedule, it look like Amos will be ending his tour at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta on April 9. I will definitely be there. See you there, tntracy?
If I wasn’t attending The Ryman show the night before, I would be knocking on Mr. Tracy’s door and drag him to that show, Drunken Angel. However, I’m eagerly waiting to look at Lu’s tour dates to squeeze in some Lu love. You must post a report.

There will also be some solo shows before Toronto -probably beginning 2/18 but nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Details on those coming soon.
I’m in Philly on 2/21 for a JM show. Will I ever be disappointed if I miss out on a Lu solo show.

Ok, who is going? Besides me, I mean?
Jealous! Yes, be sure to take notes.
LafayetteParticipantSometimes, JM blows me away with his off the cuff moments. He visited homeless shelter and invited all in room to his Detroit show several weeks ago. great little blog.

Detweiler said he was amazed at how easily the songs came together during the recording process. Many of the tracks on the album were recorded in a single take.
“The first time the band played through the song together, we quite often felt like that was a moment worth capturing forever. It was amazing that songs can land so quickly,” he said.
Henry sent a track titled “Undamned” to Williams, who performed a vocal duet with Bergquist on the song. Detweiler said it was a particularly moving part of the recording process and the band’s history.
“I must say that a few tears were shed when (Williams and Bergquist) started singing into the microphone together,” he said. “It was a good moment, and it was very much a moment that felt like it was 20 years in the making.”
