well in that case i’m glad I had them leave the seats in, of course as a promoter i’d much rather have had to take them out because we’d sold so many tickets – sadly this was not the case, but the most important thing is that the audience and performers enjoyed the show.

stoger: Thanks for posting the set list. It was a good show, but the Paris crowd (including myself, I suppose) was reserved, as it often is. Kudos to her for performing well without a lot of energy coming back to her from the audience.

When I picked up my tickets about a week before the show, I was told there would be no seats so I was surprised to arrive and find that there was seating. Which was good. I was in about the 7th row center.

How many times has she played Paris? I was aware of the show that preceded this one a while ago, but had she been here before that?

This was just the second time – she first came in november 2007 – when there was a transport strike so a lot of people couldn’t get to the venue (le Trabendo) in July 2009 a lot of people couldn’t get to the venue because they were on holiday.

Originally the concert was planned without seats (except in the balcony) but with a lot of people on holiday out of town it made sense to leave the seats in – I think the gig worked better seated ’cause it was hot and the audience were more comfortable not standing up. Lucinda probably paced her show for a stationary crowd. She was real happy afterwards and seemed to have enjoyed herself – and it was great to see her chatting signing and having pictures taken with fans before she got in the tour bus after midnight. Looking forward to bringing Lucinda and the band back to Paris – this time without a transport strike, she’ll be at the Alhambra Theatre on 23rd July and details can be found at http://www.anythingmatters.com
So happy that it was Lucinda who requested Paris be included in her tour.

This is Karel the promoter of Lucinda’s paris show. For your information there were about 350 people who managed to get across a strike stricken Paris to see what was in the end a great concert. If you understand french drop in on www.anythingmatters.com and visit the archives to read my account of the concert. Your comments on this site a really interesting. Glad so many of you appreciated the opening act of Paul Tiernan & David Ogilvy… both are excellent song-smiths and singers. When there is an opening act for one of the concerts I promote I try to ensure that it is complimentary to the main act and to the audience. Paul & David were pretty much perfect for the job, relaxed and low key putting us all in a good mood. For a moment I thought that they might be doing a second set because Lucinda was not a happy bunny when I picked her up from the tour bus. Seemed she’d been in it for several hours and it was cold. I told her that the Trabendo was as warm as the reaction she’d get from the audience but she wasn’t convinced. In the end it worked out just fine and I know she enjoyed herself and gave a moving performance. Thanks everyone for your warmth.
