Thank you so much, WW for posting this. And the the thoughtful review. Will be listening this morning as I get into the day.

We are so excited to see Lu and crew this Friday at the pier. I don’t post much, but do read and listen to the links, etc. thanks to all for sharing. Diane and I are especially stoked to meet and greet our new “friends” we met up at the desert last fall – Tony, Grumpy M, Stoger (rhymes with Roger), and hope to see David and even Tom. I have more wine if you liked it. Next day will be our 17 anniversary, so nice trip north, and Sunday we have a winery gig in Paso Robles and so will be playing our spirited take on “Stowaway”.

Now I’m a hook this thing up to the stereo and treat my ears..

Ya. Ya. Ya. Am listening right now. I believe this is a repeat of one of Buddy and Jim’s very first shows. Must’ve been done awhile ago, as they are making some good wisecracks about the ill-fated Republican Pres primary of 2012. A good sendup of HermanCain, her main Cain stuck on the Republican train, or some such. Now playing the real deal with Levon singing the Night they Drove… Think I’ll keep listening. Buddy and Jim’s show is like a tutorial for the music I like.

Thank you all for the reports, and the links. I’m going to get started listening right away.

And thanks to all here on this forum that keep the Lu Light shining. It is comforting and inspiring to share this groove.

I am reminded of the words of Ed Volker, (New Orleans Radiators) “Catch Me When I’m Falling, Catch Me When I’m Falling..” And, more to the point – “Let the Red Wine Flow, Let the Red Wine Flow, let it go..”

Thank you Tom, and best of the holiday spirit and New Year vibe to you and Lu, and our fondest wishes for a a great year coming up. We met you folks at the desert show in Yucca Valley which we loved, a hard Rockin night. TonyG was gracious enough to introduce us both to you and Lucinda after the show. We hope you all got to drink the red wine and enjoyed it. If so, (or if not) let us know as there is always more in the pipeline here in Paso Robles. Can’t wait to hear more tunes from Lu this coming year, Cheers all the way around! From JStreet Slim and the Leisurnaut, to all here at the forum – “keep shakin’!”

Thanks, indeed to you and Lucinda. And to all the friendly forum members here. Diane and I are very grateful we got to meet many of you at the desert show at Pappy & Harriet’s. Rocking good!

Tom, I hope you had a chance to sample the Paso Robles wine we brought. We’re serious about guiding you through this area for a just 3 hrs north of LA wine and music retreat. Great way to recharge while recording this winter and spring..

Looking forward to the “new” record, Tom. And if being really busy is all you can say, well that’s pretty good then, I’m told.

I hope you’re not too busy to come to the central coast for some deluxe wine country R and R at the right time. All work and no play being what they are.. And I’m hoping you got a chance to drink the wine we gave you (then took out of your hands to give to Lu) when we met after the show in the desert. Fond memories of meeting all of you folks that night.

Thnks for all your efforts, and for keeping us informed.

A warm thanks to forum regulars here who welcomed us to the desert at Pappy and Harriet’s Pioneertown. Diane and I had a wonderful time, and another thanks to you TonyG – introducing us to Tom O and then to Lu as well. Very gracious, all of you. We just got back to Paso, as we stayed in the Yucca Valley a couple days extra just to pluck on our guitars, relax and recover from a long drive. The Scot dog was also honored to meet you all. Huh, then we took a long drive, real pretty.

Sounds like the set at Northridge was a little less rocking, but considering the venue, a good idea. Thanks to you reporters for – your reports. Now that we’ve met, it will be easier to visualize faces with the words. And please do look us up if you come round here to sip on fermented grape juice. You can even listen to our version of World Without Tears.. Hope to see you again, Tom, Lu, Grumpymama (a real misnomer there), Stoger, TonyG and others.

I meant Crying. Whatever, those are joyful tears..

And while I’m at it, though I don’t post here too often, I feel familiar with many of you regulars and do visit here regularly. So hopefully might meet a few of youse as well. I’ll be the guy with the brass knobbed walking stick, Irish newsboy wool cap, and a smile. The Leisurnaut looks way better than me, so we should be easy to spot. There’s some out of date but still us material on reverbnation/jstreetslim.com and a photo or something like that. Don’t be shy.

We are so stoked to be going to this show. Last saw Lu at the Rio Theatre in Santa Cruz, town of my youth. We got our tickets a few weeks ago, found a nice inexpensive vacation rental only three or four miles from the venue. Packing up groceries, music instruments, wine etc and will leave out early tomorrow. Early for us is about 9am, haha. Supposed to be about a five hour drive from Paso. Bringing extra layers of warmth for the cold desert night, I hope the musicians fingers hold up. Am beginning to get excited. Did a gig at one of our wineries (Asuncion Ridge) last Sat, and played “Where Is My Love” twice. Diane (the Leisurnaut), wife and percussionist answered that question, but I’d like to hear it posed from the source.

And that’s why I’m Cying Tears Of Joy..

If we chance to meet you, TOverby, we can get you some contact info and local guidance for a possible retreat type wine country weekend/holiday here in Paso Robles. Possibly this winter/spring should you get the chance between recordings and such.

Thanks for bearing with me. I’ve read your posts fairly often, but don’t usually comment. Since I wasn’t summarily slapped down, maybe I’ll try something a little more coherent. Maybe.

I’ve been coming to this forum for a couple years now. My first, no second post I think. Really enjoy it, and what a great way to learn more about Lu and music in general. Thank you all. A songwriter myself, I was so excited to see her for the first time at Fillmore Aud in Nov, 2011. Needless to say I was floored when I got back to my son’s apartment where I wa staying over. I couldn’t sleep, so took a walk around the block and blurted out this drunken tribute when I returned. Which I have finally worked up the nerve to share with you all here.

See if I can get the link: http://youtu.be/XJyggXLXqrk

I do a show on the Central Coast and sometimes sing one or two Lu songs. Usually am sober when performing. This btw was the one and only time this “song” has been performed. Really, it’s more of a thank you note than anything.

After a difficult day, back hurt, etc., did two gigs over the weekend, truck blew a radiator hose coming over the grade (end litany of complaints here)- voila! We were settling in for the evening and my wife looked at me with some subdued glee, pushed the tv button, and there she was Lucinda Williams, that is. Lu and band (at Soundstage, circa 2003) played about an hour on AXS tv. Most all songs from “World Without Tears” backed by Pettibone and Co. This station I believe IS owned by Mark Cuban, and they’ve been showing some interesting music shows recently, (including the 2012 Country Music Awards Show, the good one – East Nashville Alt Country or whatever they call it. Buddy Miller, Don Was, etc.). The GOOD thing, they tend to repeat these shows for a few months, so you can still see it. I don’t know who all carries it, we are on DISH network.

Lucinda has been a balm for me musically and as a songwriter. my wife and I do a duo called J Street Slim and the Leisurnaut. Very original with a few covers drom alt country or old blues, Dylan, Hiatt, and so forth. You can Hear little on Reverbnation.com/JStreet,or something like that. And I ALWAYS do a couple Lu tunes when we play out. We’re mostly local to San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles CA. Play wineries, fish markets and the like. Thank yo Lu, Tom and all here for your assistance in our lives. My first post here, been following for awhile.

Thanks for the poem. Nice images, and something many can connect with.
