Signed up – all you have to do is register with the site and the “sold out” marks on those five dates turn into “sold out – add name to wait list.”
I’m hopeful.

So the March/April/May tour ends in Nashville at this place called the Ryman -has anybody ever heard of it? 😮
I’ve see Lu play in tiny bars, and I’ve seen her play big theaters like the Beacon.
But Ryman Auditorium, formerly the Union Gospel Tabernacle, host to legends from Caruso to Cash (and to continue the alliteration, Cline to the Carter Family), home of the Grand Ol’ Opry… this would be a great place to see our favorite artist play.
jhnhthParticipantThanks for the tip about the wait list at City Winery, foolishness. They didn’t mention that when I called a couple of weeks ago. I’ll check back with them now. Great tip – thanks so much!!!!!!
jhnhthParticipantThanks for the welcome Tony – I’m not much for typing on the ‘puter but searching for Lucinda brought me here a few weeks ago. I’ve been reading a bunch of posts since then, real nice community here!
jhnhthParticipantGreat article! Love to hear her take on those records. I still love Happy Woman Blues – I remember asking her is she ever still played “King of Hearts” one of the first times we met back in 88 or 89. Gurf didn’t know the song at all. Lu kinda made a face and said “oh, man, that’s an oooold one.” I still love that record, and that song especially. Thanks for pointing us to that article – a great read!
jhnhthParticipantLet me add my plea for City Winery tix too. These shows sold out so fast!
Longtime fan, I’ve seen Lu play about 20 times over the years, going back to the days with Gurf. First time I saw her play was around 1988-89 – it was at Greenstreets in Columbia, SC, and my friend and I stayed around and talked with Lu and Gurf after the show, drinking beers and talking about blues and punk rock and poetry. Next night they were playing in Chapel Hill, NC, so I drove up with another buddy who missed the first show. I’ve seen her play a bunch of times since then, in SC and NC, in London and in NYC. Maybe the most memorable show was the show at Tramps in NYC the day Car Wheels was released. Oh, what a show that was.
Anyway, if there are any extra tix floating around, please please message me or email at johnhath at gmail dot com. Would love to hear the new stuff live. thanks so much.
