Not at this time. Only the LA and NY shows have been allowed to be done this way so far.
Inside JobParticipantThe Lucinda Williams ST album or the “Rough Trade” record as she refers to it (from its original label) will be re-issued next year, probably in some type of deluxe form. The license with Koch expired and she does own all the rights to it.
Inside JobParticipantNot yet. He will now be shooting all the shows in NY also.
Inside JobParticipantJust to add a couple of additional notes, with all due respect. Unsuffer Me was the last song of the regualr set. The show did start late at 930, but there was no 11:00 curfew, hence the rather lengthy “discussion with Charlie” intro to Get Right With God, which ended at 11:45. Actually there was a curfew but it was midnight and didn’t come in to play. Just for the record.
Inside JobParticipantJust want to add a little inside perspective to this discussion. Lucinda and the band were all very happy with the ACL set. And to say that they are meticulous in their self-critiquing would be an understatement.
While everyone is obviously entitled to their opinions, when it gets mean and near slanderous thats another thing. It does make one wonder what the motivations are to go and dump where others eat, so to speak.
In the case of Red Rocks, it was probably a Ryan Adams online street-teamer, and the ACL critic seemed almost too similar, and may have been the same. In any event, it becomes hard not to want to respond, when fans who couldn’t be there begin to wonder wha’s up with these kinds of reports. For the record, she was not drunk- she never ever drinks before a show. Although a little exhausted from a grueling run of shows, she was in tremendous spirits and energy. She has never been more comfortable on stage and is having as much fun as she’s ever had r with this current band, which she adores, and rightly so. She would also tell you that she’s singing better than she ever has, which the live cds will attest.
With a set that started out with Righteously, (which had never been a set opener before) and rocked all the way thru to Unsuffer Me. It was a ripping good set and 30,000 other people seemed to agree very loudly.Inside JobParticipantIt was hoped that the cds would already have been available. The whole cd part of the LA & NY shows came together rather quickly, and as a result it is taking a little longer than planned to get some of the fulfillment logistics etc. in place. Best case scenario is tomorrow. But either way they will be available very soon.
You patience is appreciated.Inside JobParticipantLucinda -and the whole band for that matter, considered it to be a great audience -one of the best on this tour, and one of the best in quite awhile.
Inside JobParticipantConfirmed yesterday–Doug & Telisha Williams
Inside JobParticipantThe original setlist each night is the typed version. The handwritten changes are made during the show as Lucinda decides on the fly what songs she wants to play at that time.
Inside JobParticipantLA was supposed to be up–and will be up as soon as possible.
Inside JobParticipantDetails coming early next week. Although they were not available at the Santa Fe show. The LA cds will also be available at all the shows between Dallas and NY, with the exception of ACL in Austin.
Inside JobParticipantPlease note slight change. The Rjissen show is no longer and has been changed to Rotterdam -Off Corso on 11/9. The website will reflect the change asap.
Inside JobParticipantAll of the most recent ones should be up sometime tomorrow, and some more from this summer will be up today.
Inside JobParticipantOut of the 60 or 70 shows she has played this year, and I have not seen them all, but I only know of 2 or 3 shows where she has run up to the curfew because of starting late. There have been a few other instances where she just wants to keep playing, but can’t for the reasons I explained above. The shortest show she has played this year is 1:35 minutes. Given that, your characterization that the curfew thing is a major issue- (pretty worn out) is inaccurate and obviously shaded by the angry tone of your post. That being said I agree that it shouldn’t ever happen, but when you’re running on very tight timelines, and something does happen, it will have a big impact on the timing of the evening. In the next few days all of this years set lists will be posted complete with prod. mgr Flappy’s changes and notes etc, so the facts will be out there for all to see. They are being put up because they are interesting to look at, but in this case I guess they will also serve a purpose.
Inside JobParticipantNo she can’t. In union buildings where there are hard curfews, going over one minute means paying at least an additional hour for the building an everyone in it on staff. One minute means thousands of dollars, easily enough to instantly take her into the red for the night. So, no she can’t just sail past a curfew if she wants to.
